UNDERSTANDING THE ROLE
The Director, Enterprise Strategy & Operations serves as a key strategic and operational partner to the EVP & Head of Enterprise Strategy & Operations in advancing CCS's evolving enterprise S&O operating model, firmwide strategic priorities, and cross-functional operational coordination efforts.
The Enterprise Strategy & Operations function supports operational coordination, organizational effectiveness, and strategic execution across CCS's four regions - Atlantic, Central, Northeast & Europe, and West. The function oversees six core departmental areas across Strategy and Operations, including Marketing, Business Development, Proposals, Executive Partnerships & Office Operations, Business Systems, and Engagement (including regional staffing and learning & development initiatives).
This role helps operationalize enterprise priorities across regional S&O teams through structured planning, communications, KPI tracking, process implementation, project management, and operational follow-through. The Director plays a central role in helping organize, prioritize, and advance a broad portfolio of enterprise S&O work while supporting greater consistency, scalability, and operational excellence across regions.
This role will partner closely with the Director, Enterprise Staffing to help ensure strong coordination between enterprise staffing strategy and the broader S&O operating model.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Enterprise S&O Operating Model
- Partner with the EVP & Head of Enterprise Strategy & Operations to design, refine, and implement CCS's enterprise S&O operating model, including regional structures, department charters, role expectations, hiring guidance, governance rhythms, and shared operating standards.
- Help evaluate future structural changes across S&O, including how work should be organized across regions, departments, Corporate functions, and enterprise roles.
- Support the continued development of shared definitions of S&O excellence, including scorecards, KPI frameworks, progress tracking, and other tools to help regions assess performance and consistency across departments.
- Help prepare for, attend, and manage follow-up from key S&O meetings and leadership forums, including weekly S&O Lead meetings, bimonthly S&O Leaders Forums, annual retreats, and select cross-functional working sessions.
- Support key S&O initiatives, including standalone Marketing and Business Development department development, proposal and contract process improvements, Executive Partnerships optimization, S&O onboarding/training, and expansion of the S&O Mentorship Program.
- Identify opportunities to improve S&O workflows through clearer SOPs, better reporting, automation, shared tools, and other process improvements.
Enterprise Planning, Reporting & Strategic Support
- Track key regional updates and operating context across Atlantic, Central, Northeast & Europe, and West, including leadership changes, new hires/departures, open roles, actual vs. budgeted headcount, major meetings, and other significant regional developments.
- Partner with Finance, BI, and regional S&O leadership to track and synthesize key operational and financial metrics, including non-compensation budgets, expense recapture, headcount, utilization, staffing-related indicators, and other metrics S&O leaders can help manage.
- Help turn data and regional updates into clear summaries, insights, presentations, and recommendations for the EVP & Head of Enterprise S&O, the Operations Leadership Team, and other firmwide leadership forums.
- Support select Unleash priorities by helping advance workplans, track progress, prepare materials, and follow through on next steps.
Corporate Partnerships & Cross-Functional Coordination
- Serve as an operational connector between regional S&O teams and Corporate functions
- In coordination with the Transformation office, help operationalize enterprise-wide processes that require strong regional and Corporate coordination, including forecasting, budgeting, focal review planning, long-range planning, office moves/renovations, and other cross-functional initiatives.
- Partner with the Growth Team on the development of more formalized Marketing and Business Development structures, workflows, KPIs, and operating expectations across regions.
- Support select external partnerships, consultants, vendors, and training relationships tied to enterprise S&O priorities.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree required
- 5+ years of relevant professional experience in strategy, operations, consulting, project management, business operations, organizational effectiveness, or related fields; graduate degree may be considered in lieu of some professional experience
- Strong organizational, project management, and operational coordination skills
- Strong written communication and presentation development experience
- Ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously in a fast-paced environment
- Experience supporting cross-functional initiatives and organizational change efforts preferred
