Job Summary:
This Senior Program Manager is responsible for driving the success of New Product Development Projects and/or key Business Initiatives. He/she will lead multi-location, cross-functional teams to launch new products using a structured development process. The simultaneous programs typically include Hardware, Firmware, Mechanical and Software development of multiple-product platforms and systems of higher complexities.
What You Will Do:
  • Works closely with Product Managers and Portfolio Leaders to capture product roadmaps, product/project requirements, scope and success metrics and participates in business tradeoffs
  • Leads cross-functional teams including Product Management, Engineering, Design, Test, Finance, Operations Test, Cyber-Security, and other functions to establish project development strategy, schedule, product costs, budget and resource needs for highly technical projects.
  • Will work alongside other customer-facing Allegion employees as the products are integrated into customers' sites. May also be a key point of contact with those customers to manage the integration process.
  • Continuously monitors and drives project activities, risk mitigation, and issue resolution to ensure programs progress on schedule and within budget while meeting program objectives and metrics.
  • Works directly with the team and functional leadership as needed to drive issues to closure, and/or escalates issues and mitigation recommendations to upper management.
  • Works with other program managers on interdependencies or conflicts with other simultaneous projects.
  • Schedules and leads timely status review meetings, and formal project Reviews with Senior Management.
  • Mentors other Project/Program Managers and coaches program team members on project management fundamentals.
  • Proactively leads initiatives with other functional managers to improve processes, tools, and handoffs
  • Ability to travel up to 20%.

ESSENTIAL SKILLS or KNOWLEDGE:
  • Demonstrated autonomy leading complex, new product and platform development programs from concept to production using a structured process including traditional and Agile methodologies, while also tailoring the processes as needed for each program.
  • Proven problem-solving skills and techniques, especially for technical applications. Works directly with the team to assemble solution recommendations to the Business Leaders when a program is at risk.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills at all levels within the organization.
  • Business acumen and experience in business tradeoffs.
  • Tenacity in coordination of project team members to achieve program timelines and outcomes.
  • Self-starter with experience leading significant impacts on project execution, processes and tools.
  • Good understanding of consumer products, software, hardware and/or systems development.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office tools, including project management software.

What You Need to Succeed:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (preferred) or Business Administration
  • Minimum of 8 years' experience in New Product Development, with a minimum of 5 years' experience leading cross-functional teams. 5 years' experience leading Connected Electronic products and systems preferred.
  • PMP or other Project/Program Management Certifications expected.
