Coaching Manager information

What is a coaching manager?

A Coaching Manager is a professional responsible for overseeing and guiding a team of coaches within an organization. Their main duties include supporting the development of coaching strategies, ensuring that coaches are meeting performance goals, and providing ongoing training and feedback. Coaching Managers often work in corporate, educational, or sports settings to enhance individual and team performance. They also help create a positive coaching culture and ensure alignment with organizational objectives.

How does a coaching manager typically balance direct coaching responsibilities with managing a team of coaches?

As a Coaching Manager, you will often find yourself balancing time between coaching clients directly and overseeing a team of coaches. This involves setting performance standards, providing feedback, and facilitating professional development for your team, while also maintaining your own client load. Successful Coaching Managers prioritize clear communication and scheduling, delegate tasks appropriately, and foster a supportive team environment to ensure both client outcomes and coach growth are achieved. Regular team meetings and ongoing assessments help maintain alignment with organizational goals.

Both roles support employee development but differ in scope: Coaching Managers are more strategic and personalized, while Training Coordinators focus on operational training activities.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a coaching manager, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Coaching Manager, you need a deep understanding of coaching methodologies, strong leadership skills, and experience in team development, often supported by a degree in a relevant field and professional coaching certifications. Familiarity with coaching platforms, performance management systems, and data analysis tools is typically required. Excellent communication, emotional intelligence, and the ability to motivate and inspire others set outstanding Coaching Managers apart. These skills are essential to effectively develop talent, drive organizational performance, and foster a positive team culture.

At Silver Branch Brewing Company, we believe great beer brings people together, but itโ€™s genuine hospitality that keeps people coming back. We strive to create Gemรผtlichkeitโ€”a feeling of warmth, camaraderie, and belonging for every guest who walks through our doors.

Weโ€™re looking for an experienced General Manager to lead our Warrenton location. This role is responsible for creating an exceptional guest experience, developing a high-performing team, driving financial results, and fostering a positive culture where employees are proud of the work they do.

The ideal candidate is an engaged leader who enjoys being on the floor, coaching managers, developing employees, and continuously improving operations. Youโ€™ll partner closely with Executive Leadership to shape the direction of our taproom, kitchen, beer-to-go operation, and private events while ensuring Silver Branch remains a destination for outstanding hospitality.

What Youโ€™ll Do
  • Lead daily operations of the taproom, kitchen, and beer-to-go business.
  • Build, coach, and develop a team of managers and hourly employees through ongoing training, feedback, and accountability.
  • Create a welcoming environment that reflects Silver Branchโ€™s culture of hospitality and community.
  • Recruit, hire, onboard, and retain exceptional team members in partnership with Human Resources.
  • Establish and maintain high standards for cleanliness, food quality, beverage quality, and guest service.
  • Oversee scheduling, labor management, inventory, purchasing, and operating expenses.
  • Analyze sales, labor, food cost, and other key performance metrics to drive profitability.
  • Develop and implement operational improvements, policies, and training programs.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, health and safety regulations, and alcoholic beverage laws.
  • Handle guest concerns professionally and resolve issues with urgency and care.
  • Maintain facilities and equipment while coordinating preventative maintenance and repairs.
  • Prepare operational reports and communicate business results to Executive Leadership.
  • Lead by example, fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
What Weโ€™re Looking For
  • Five or more years of restaurant, brewery, taproom, or hospitality management experience, including multi-department leadership.
  • Proven success leading high-performing teams and developing future leaders.
  • Strong understanding of restaurant financials, including labor, food cost, inventory, and profitability.
  • Excellent leadership, coaching, and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to analyze business performance and make data-driven decisions.
  • Comfortable balancing administrative responsibilities with an active floor presence.
  • Passion for hospitality and creating memorable guest experiences.
  • Certified Cicerone designation, or willingness to obtain certification.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn restaurant management, inventory, scheduling, and POS systems.

This is a full-time, salaried leadership position averaging approximately 45 hours per week, including:

  • Four management shifts each week
  • One administrative shift dedicated to planning, reporting, coaching, and operational projects
  • Evenings, weekends, and holidays as business needs require
Physical Requirements
  • Stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Frequently bend, stoop, reach, squat, and lift throughout the workday.
  • Safely lift up to 135 pounds with assistance when appropriate.
  • Navigate all areas of the restaurant, including kitchen and storage areas.
  • Occasionally work at a computer to complete administrative responsibilities.

If youโ€™re passionate about hospitality, enjoy developing great teams, and want to help create one of Warrentonโ€™s best dining and beer experiences, weโ€™d love to meet you.
