QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Valid NJDOE Instructional Certificate or County Substitute Certificate requiring a minimum of thirty (30) college credits, as applicable.
2. Prior coaching, athletic, or extracurricular experience preferred.
3. Strong knowledge of the sport/activity, including rules, safety procedures, skill development, and age-appropriate coaching practices.
4. Ability to supervise students in a safe, positive, and inclusive environment while promoting teamwork, sportsmanship, discipline, and participation.
5. Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with students, staff, families, and administration.
6. Availability to attend practices, games, competitions, events, and/or activities during the assigned season.
7. Must possess or obtain CPR certification, complete Sports First Aid, and complete the required components of the NFHS Fundamentals of Coaching course.
8. Required criminal history background check and proof of U.S. citizenship or legal resident alien status.
REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Student Discipline, Athletics, & Special Projects
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: Stipend rate of $5,805 in accordance to the collective bargaining agreement.
โ€ข The employee is not eligible for a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental,
and vision insurance, paid sick and personal leave accruals (pursuant to the collective bargaining
agreement), and enrollment in the New Jersey Teachers' Pension and Annuity Fund (TPAF) or
the Public Employees' Retirement System.
โ€ข The position is not eligible for additional compensation in the form of stipends for
extracurricular activities, coaching, or tuition reimbursement based on district policy.
