Project Engineer Co-Op (Student)

CGC Inc. is a leading marketer, manufacturer and distributor of gypsum wallboard products, interior finishing material and suspended acoustical ceilings. With locations around the world, CGC and USG have the resources, plants, products, and people to build walls, ceilings, and careers.

CGC Inc. is currently recruiting for a Project Engineer Co-Op (Student) for our facility, based in Calgary, Alberta.

It's a temporary and full-time position, offering a challenging opportunity for a motivated individual to demonstrate their leadership ability and expertise in a manufacturing operation within a large corporation.

Reporting to the Joint Treatment Manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for:

· Responsible for monitoring day to day process activity and recommend improvements to maximize efficiency and productivity to include waste, speed, delay and raw material usage.

· Manage the coordination, implementation and standardization of manufacturing and warehouse process improvements.

· Responsible for supporting new technology and processes and implementing trial plans.

· Responsible for leading cross functional teams assembled to address process variability.

· Incorporate safety into all aspects of the department and ensure safe working conditions during all activities associated within the manufacturing environment.

Qualifications:

· Candidates must be in a registered engineering degree program.

· Candidate must demonstrate strong analytical skills, understand data collection, statistics and recognize the relationship between various process functions.

· Candidate must possess strong communication and leadership skills to be able to foster cross functional corrective action activity.

· Self-starter and excellent organizational skills to be able to handle multiple activities.
