About the role

The Consumable Engineering Co-op will assist the engineering staff in providing technical floor support to the reagent, sensor, and tubing manufacturing operations to ensure on-time shipments of high-quality products at an acceptable cost.

What you’ll do

  • Assist engineers in creation and revision of all forms of manufacturing documentation (AP, TP, OI, OP, Drawings, and Artwork) which conform to Quality System Regulations (QSRs) and ISO standards.
  • Assist in measurement of components for form, fit, and function of nonconforming product.
  • Assist in development and execution of Installation Qualifications (IQ), Operational Qualifications (OQ), Performance Qualifications (PQ), Validations, Design of Experiment (DOE), Process Failure Mode Effects Analysis (PFMEA), Process Validation Master Plans, and Continuous Improvement Studies/Evaluations.
  • Assist in setup of new equipment for existing or new processes/assemblies.
  • Design tooling/fixtures for processes or modify existing production equipment as needed.
  • Assist with process improvement efforts.
  • Assist with providing direct support for manufacturing operations.

What we are looking for in you

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Time management skills
  • Experience with SOLIDWORKS 3D Modeling and Drafting
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Enrollment in a Mechanical Engineering program.

  • High school diploma.

  • Physical Requirements for this role include:
    • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods while working in office, lab, and manufacturing environments
    • Ability to perform repetitive tasks involving hands, wrists, and fingers
    • Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials or equipment up to approximately 25 pounds
    • Ability to bend, reach, and perform light physical activity as required to support manufacturing operations
    • Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in manufacturing and laboratory areas
    • Ability to safely work around production equipment and machinery

Targeted Salary Range: $23 - $27/hour

Working Hours: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM
