Position Summary:

The Brain Injury Specialist supports and motivates program participants in our residential brain injury rehabilitation facility as they address cognitive, physical, medical, behavioral and psycho-social rehabilitation programming goals (our employees do not provide personal cares). Employees support program participants as they work to develop behavioral compensatory strategies to assist in coping with manifestations of brain injury to include struggles with mental health. This engagement supports program participants in developing the skillset to return to lives of personal meaning where they live, learn, work and recreate in their chosen communities.


We are seeking professionally minded individuals who are looking for an opportunity to learn and grow with our expanding company. Extensive training is provided and includes national certification in brain injury services. Ideal candidates will have experience in human services, brain injury, or mental health field or are currently seeking a degree in these fields.

· CNR fully paid sponsorship for becoming a Certified Brain Injury Specialist (CBIS) in the first twelve (12) months

Schedule:

· AM (7am-3pm); PM (2pm-10pm); Overnight (9:45pm-7:15am)

· 8 hour shift

· 10 hour shift

· Holidays

· Rotating Weekends (Required)

Requirements:

All must be fulfilled:

1.Have a bachelor’s degree in a human services-related field;

Have an associate’s degree in human services with two years of experience working with individuals with brain injury;

Be an individual who is in the process of seeking a degree in the human services field with two years of experience working with individuals with brain injury; or

Be a certified brain injury specialist (CBIS) certified through the Academy for the Certification of Brain Injury Specialists (ACBIS)


2. Driving requirement - Must be at least 21 years old with a valid driver's license and have a good driving record in accordance with CNR's policies and procedures


3. Able to pass state and federal background checks, and a pre-employment physical and drug screen are required



Ability to commute:

· Des Moines, IA: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)


License/Certification:

· Driver's License (Required)
