Programs, sets up and operates a variety of CNC 3, 4 & 5 Axis Machines to mill metallic and nonmetallic workpieces to produce, maintain, or repair parts for customer requirements, machines, molds, and equipment, applying knowledge of machine shop procedures, programming knowledge, variety of machine-tool setup and operating techniques, metal and plastic properties, and custom-machining methods. To set up and run various machines using the correct speeds, feeds, and tools to ensure the machine is operating at its peak performance as well as assuring that the completed work meets all customer requirements.
What You'll Do:
Primary Tactical Responsibilities
  • Studies job folders including routers, set up sheets, set up photo's, blueprints to understand the sequence of operations and finished dimensions of work piece.
  • Selects and mounts correct cutting tools and tooling needed for each job and sets tools and offsets.
  • Sets up CNC machines including but not limited to 3, 4 or 5 Axis Mills and completes set up documentation, working thru first piece approval and a quality consistent process.
  • Runs jobs.
  • Inspects Work and confirms all dimensional and other specifications comply with requirements of the job per KMM QMS Standards.
  • Analyzes work problems and provides problem solving through troubleshooting processes and programs.
  • Modifies NC Code as needed/directed to improve effectiveness of the job.
  • Reports labor and machine time, and quantity good/scrap per KMM standards.
  • Complies with all QMS Requirements, KMM Processes, and documentation requirements, including job folders, inspection sheets, Setup Sheets, and others as defined (cGMP).
  • Confirms that their jobs are running within estimated times printed on routers in job folders.

Primary Strategic Responsibilities
  • Plan work for lights out manufacturing and maintains machines
  • Recommends and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product, and suggests changes to increase the quality and efficiency of jobs.
  • (May) Assist in training new workers.
  • Maintains a clean and orderly work environment.

Physical Demands:
Ability to sit at computer workstation for extended periods of time, walk the shop floor, and participate in aspects of the product realization as may be required.
On the floor. Standing for up to 10 hours/day at a machine. Lifting up to 50 lbs. (or more)
• What You Bring:
o Minimum 5 years of working experience in 4 & 5 Axis Machining. Pallet System Experience a PLUS
o Vocational education or apprenticeship preferred. High School Diploma preferred.
o Exhibit strong understanding on NC Code.
o Preferred Equipment Experience includes DMG Mori (DMU, DV Series) & HAAS (UMC, VF2SS Series) machines with pallet changers & robotic automation
o Preferred Machine Controls: Fanuc, Mitsubishi, or Siemens
