CNC Router Operator

Position Summary:
We are seeking a self-motivated, detail-oriented, and punctual candidate to be a CNC Router Operator. This person would have a strong mechanical aptitude, is alert, and always aware of their surroundings. Our ideal candidate has reliable transportation and will have impeccable attendance. The role of a CNC Router Operator is to operate the router and set the router up to run while continuously checking for tolerance consistency. Being able to work independently and manage your time to stay efficient is a must. All machining done on the router table will be done on plastics. You will be sitting, standing, and lifting while performing the duties of this role. Loading sheets of thick plastic onto the router are heavy and large so this does require the operator to be able to do this. Fork Lifts are available as well.
Experience desired:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A certificate or diploma in machining, engineering, or a relevant discipline like a waterjet table is a plus.
  • 1-2 years operating CNC Routers or similar production machines.
  • Manual lathe/mill (not required).
  • Intermediate math skills (fraction/ decimal calculations).

Responsibilities, Requirements, and Functions of CNC Machinist:
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, drawings, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances of finished workpieces to ensure parts will pass a quality check.
  • Be able to safely operate CNC Router Tables.
  • Take critical directions and follow detailed instructions.
  • Perform machine maintenance when required.
  • Maintain a safe working environment.
  • Keep the work area, tools, and equipment clean and orderly.
  • Ability to multi-task.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Be Drug-Free.

Physical Job Demands:
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; use hands/fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands & arms. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; & stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must lift and/ or move up to 100 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, & the ability to focus. Safety glasses or side shields for prescription glasses are mandatory.
CNC Router Operators will work in a team environment. You will work closely with your team members to effectively ensure the client gets the best overall quality possible. Willingness to communicate with other team members, share knowledge, ask questions, and be open to new ideas/practices creates the work environment we desire.
