Job description

Prospect Anchor & Tool is a small U.S. manufacturer of stainless steel undercut concrete anchors and installation tools used in infrastructure and industrial applications.

We are looking for an experienced part-time CNC machinist to support production on our Haas ST-20Y CNC lathe. Our primary production processes, tooling, and CNC programs are already in place, but we are continuing to refine and improve them. We need an experienced machinist who can step into the operation, work independently, identify machining issues, and make appropriate program, tooling, or setup adjustments to improve consistency and production efficiency.

This is not an entry-level machine operator position. We are looking for someone who understands CNC machining, can recognize production issues, and can make appropriate adjustments without requiring constant supervision.

Responsibilities include:

  • Set up and operate a Haas ST-20Y CNC lathe
  • Run and evaluate existing CNC programs
  • Review and modify Haas/G-code programs as needed
  • Troubleshoot dimensional variation, tooling issues, cycle problems, and other machining inconsistencies
  • Make tooling, offset, speed/feed, and program adjustments where appropriate
  • Help refine existing machining processes for better repeatability and efficiency
  • Read and work from production drawings and setup information
  • Monitor part quality and dimensional consistency throughout production
  • Perform in-process inspection using calipers, micrometers, and other measuring equipment
  • Work primarily with 316 stainless steel components
  • Maintain an organized and consistent production process

Preferred experience:

  • Previous CNC lathe machining experience
  • Haas CNC programming and lathe experience strongly preferred
  • Comfortable performing setups, tooling changes, offsets, and basic troubleshooting
  • Ability to read machining drawings and understand dimensional tolerances
  • Experience machining stainless steel is a plus
  • Able to work independently in a small manufacturing environment

This is a part-time position with flexible scheduling. It may be a good fit for an experienced machinist looking for supplemental hours, someone currently working in the trade who wants additional part-time work, or a semi-retired machinist who wants to continue machining without a full-time schedule.

Compensation will be based on experience and capability.
