Cloudnexa is an Amazon Web Services (AWS) Premier Partner that is looking for an experienced and motivated Cloud support engineer that enjoys solving problems, working with customers, and has a strong technical background.  As an AWS Cloud Engineer, you will be the 3rd Level Support responsible for diving deep into technical issues that arise and developing solutions for our customer.  In addition to support, handling Well-Architected Framework Reviews and other Professional Service engagements will be required.  The ideal candidate should be a detail-oriented self-starter with independent problem solving skills, who exhibits excellent verbal and written communication skills.

This position will provide the opportunity to gain top-notch experience in cloud computing through Cloudnexa's 24/7 support and professional services operations, focused out of the Honolulu, Salt Lake City, and Philadelphia regions.

Job Description
  • General Systems Administration and support duties, including security reviews, patching, deployments, and AWS Account administration.
  • Ability to implement AWS Cost Savings, Security Gaps, and has excellent AWS Service knowledge in order to architect, design, and implement new large-scale systems.
  • Support pre-sales activities for designing and scoping new customer engagements. 
  • Quality check existing support team work. 
  • Implementing ways to automate and improve repetitive processes.
  • Identifying and investigating new ways to solve complex issues for our customers and present findings in simple, straight-forward solutions. 
  • Ability to deal with ambiguity and juggle multiple tasks at once.
  • Ability to conduct an AWS Well-Architected Framework Review.
  • Participate in a 24x7 on-call rotation. 
  • Mentor existing junior Support Engineers. 
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator or Security Engineer or equivalent position.
  • 2+ years in a customer facing consulting or support role.  
  • 3+ years of experience with both Linux/Unix and Windows OS support.
  • 2+ years of experience implementing and administering AWS services including EC2, ELB, S3, VPC, IAM, RDS, CloudFront, Workspaces, CloudWatch, and CloudFormation/Terraform, etc.
  • 3+ years of experience running and maintaining 24x7 internet-facing production environments leveraging web services like Nginx, IIS, Tomcat, Apache Web Server, or equivalent.
  • Hands-on experience implementing monitoring, alerting, dashboards, and metrics reporting.
  • Experienced in support processes, runbook management, adhering to SLA's, and issue resolution/management. 
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of Computer Science fundamentals in data structures, OS, Networking, problem solving, and performance tuning.
  • Experience with one or more scripting languages like Python, Bash/Shell, or PowerShell.
  • Strong technical documentation skills.

  • AWS SysOps Administrator - Associate Certification or equivalent.
