Job description

Position Summary:
The Housekeeping/Laundry Aide is responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and sanitary environment for residents, visitors, and staff. This position performs housekeeping duties throughout the facility and assists with laundering, sorting, and distributing resident linens and personal clothing.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Clean and sanitize resident rooms, bathrooms, common areas, offices, and other facility spaces.

  • Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, and remove trash throughout the facility.

  • Follow infection control and safety procedures at all times.

  • Collect, sort, wash, dry, fold, and distribute linens and resident clothing.

  • Label and organize resident clothing as needed.

  • Maintain housekeeping and laundry equipment in good working order.

  • Stock housekeeping supplies and report supply needs to the supervisor.

  • Respond promptly to spills, hazards, and housekeeping requests.

  • Ensure resident rooms and common areas remain neat and presentable.

  • Follow facility policies and procedures regarding resident rights and confidentiality.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Previous housekeeping or laundry experience preferred but not required.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
