Mammoth Hospital is seeking a qualified Certified Clinical Laboratory Assistant to join its Clinical Laboratory team on a 13-week contract assignment. The Laboratory Assistant will support Laboratory Scientists with clinical laboratory operations, perform phlebotomy and specimen collection procedures, assist with non-technical patient testing activities, and help maintain a safe, organized, and efficient laboratory environment.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and committed to providing accurate, high-quality patient care.

• Perform venipuncture, including heel-stick and finger-stick procedures.

• Apply appropriate aseptic techniques during patient care and specimen collection.

• Identify the appropriate specimen type for requested laboratory testing through established procedures, clinical knowledge, and research.

• Accurately collect, label, handle, process, and transport specimens according to laboratory standards.

• Assist with non-technical aspects of laboratory testing under the supervision of a Laboratory Scientist.

• Complete laboratory paperwork and documentation accurately, including patient and reference laboratory requisitions.

• Document special circumstances and review applicable patient and billing demographics.

• Complete daily laboratory checklists and temperature monitoring.

• Assist with monthly records and annual reporting requirements.

• Maintain adequate laboratory supplies and ensure work areas remain clean, organized, and safe.

• Follow established laboratory, patient safety, quality assurance, and infection-control procedures.

• Support efficient laboratory operations and contribute to quality patient care.

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent.

• Current CPT-1 or CPT-2 certification.

• Current American Heart Association BLS certification.

• Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience.

Preferred:

• At least 1 year of experience working as a Phlebotomist.

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Effective time-management and organizational abilities.

• Full-time contract position.

• Varied shifts.

• 36 guaranteed hours per week.

• Overtime begins after 40 hours per week.

• Holiday coverage is required.

• Candidates must maintain required certifications and applicable credentials throughout the assignment.

• 1099 arrangements are not accepted.

Housing may be available depending on availability. Furnished, self-contained apartments are offered in studio and one-bedroom configurations. Units include private kitchens and bathrooms, furnishings, Wi-Fi, cable, and essential appliances.

Housing amenities include a swimming pool, recreational and common areas, ping-pong or foosball, lounge space, fireplace, and a fitness room.
