Overview

The Clinical Coach Preceptor provides clinical instruction, supervision, and evaluation for two or more newly licensed nurses during group orientation. This role focuses on teaching, coaching, and competency validation rather than direct patient assignment. The Clinical Coach Preceptor partners with direct care nurses to plan and facilitate clinical learning experiences, establishes weekly orientation goals, evaluates performance, and delivers ongoing feedback to support progression toward independent nursing practice

Utilizes a global perspective when assessing educational needs toward the development and implementation of curriculum for hospital-wide programs. Performs outcomes analysis of current programs to determine needed modifications to content to enhance patient outcomes, staff performance, clinical competence and professional development. Teaches, develops and mentors through a broad range of activities that lead to the development and implementation of a professional practice model. Leads in the planning, implementation and evaluation of new systems/processes as they impact staff competency in the delivery of patient centered care. Facilitates an environment that values and enhances research, knowledge and professional development.


Qualifications
Age of Patients Served:All Age Groups.Required Education:Master's DegreePreferred Education:Certification as a Clinical Nurse Specialist.Necessary Skills:Proven experience setting the strategic direction of competency-based learning in multi-disciplinary health care units.Ability to produce effective program development, assessment lesson plans and learning objectives.Proven organizational, proactive and independent work methods.Seasoned verbal, written and influence-based communication skills. Proven knowledge and experience integrating and implementing adult teaching principles.Required Licensure/Certifications:- Licensed to practice nursing in the state of Florida- BLS - Professional Certifications required within one year of hire. - Certification as required for assigned units.Required Experience:1-2 years - Formal or informal teaching experience-AND-2-4 years - Clinical Specialty.Preferred Experience:NRP, PALS, BLS/ACLS Instructor preferred per clinical area.
