Alta Climbing and Fitness is a dynamic rock climbing gym dedicated to building strength, community, and a love for movement. We offer climbing, fitness, and wellness experiences for all levels. Our yoga program supports climbers by improving mobility, balance, recovery, and mental focus.


Position Summary:
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Yoga Instructor to lead engaging classes tailored to climbers and general fitness enthusiasts. The ideal candidate understands the physical demands of climbing and can design sessions that enhance flexibility, prevent injury, and promote recovery.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead safe, inclusive, and engaging yoga classes for a variety of skill levels
  • Design sequences that complement climbing (focus on mobility, flexibility, core strength, and injury prevention)
  • Provide clear instruction, demonstrations, and hands-on adjustments when appropriate
  • Create a welcoming and supportive environment for all participants
  • Collaborate with gym staff to integrate yoga into the overall member experience
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the yoga space
  • Stay current with industry trends and continuing education

Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Certified Yoga Instructor (200-hour minimum required)
  • Experience teaching group classes (experience in a fitness or climbing environment is a plus)
  • Understanding of anatomy, injury prevention, and functional movement
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt classes for different skill levels and physical needs
  • CPR/AED certification (or willingness to obtain)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with athletes or climbers
  • Background in fitness, kinesiology, or related field
  • Availability for evenings and/or weekends
