Job description

Key Responsibilities:
 
Risk Management
  • Enforce all gym policies and climbing rules
  • Monitor bouldering, top rope, and lead areas
  • Respond to incidents
  • Complete and document incident reports
Staff Leadership
  • Lead and direct front desk and floor staff during shift
  • Delegate tasks and ensure completion (cleaning, belay checks, member assistance)
  • Assist with training new hires
  • Serve as point of contact for staff questions or concerns
Member & Guest Experience
  • Deliver exceptional customer service
  • Address member concerns and resolve complaints professionally
  • Oversee group events, classes, and birthday parties as needed
  • Ensure visitor agreements and check-in procedures are properly followed
Operations
  • Open and/or close the facility according to procedures
  • Handle cash drawers and POS transactions
  • Balance registers and complete end-of-shift reports
  • Monitor facility cleanliness and organization
  • Communicate operational updates to management
Qualifications
  • Previous climbing gym, retail, hospitality, or supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of climbing
  • Top rope belay certified (lead certification preferred)
  • CPR/AED and First Aid certified (or ability to obtain)
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to remain calm and decisive in emergency situations
