 Position Overview

The Client Services team provides a variety of support to our clients post-implementation through the lifecycle of their relationship with Paylocity. The Team strives to create a positive relationship with clients to build client loyalty and retention. With a team of dedicated and knowledgeable Account Managers, clients get their questions answered, problems solved, and needs met timely & accurately. Client Services aims to create a one-of-a-kind client experience for all Paylocity’s clients.


Internship Overview 

The Client Services Internship is a 12-week summer experience designed to give you a real look into a career in Client Services. You’ll learn how Account Managers build strong client relationships, solve problems, and deliver an exceptional client experience while gaining hands-on experience that prepares you for a potential full-time opportunity after graduation. Throughout the summer, you’ll:

  • Get hands-on experience through onboarding, mentorship, job shadowing, reverse shadowing, and exposure to real client interactions.
  • Build business and industry knowledge through weekly learning activities, assignments, leadership conversations, and team experiences.
  • Work on a meaningful project aligned to Client Services goals, developing recommendations, and presenting your work to managers and leaders.
  • Grow your professional skills through workshops, peer networking, mentorship, and our Intern Summit at Paylocity’s headquarters.
  • Connect with leaders and peers across the organization while gaining a broader understanding of how different teams work together.
  • Showcase your growth through mid-point and final presentations highlighting your key learnings, project results, and recommendation

This is a 100% in-office role based at our Meridian, ID location. Remote or hybrid work is not available for this position. Candidates must be able to work on-site five days per week from 9:00am -6:00pm local time.    


Primary Responsibilities The below represents the primary duties of the intern position; others may be assigned as needed. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Communicate professionally with clients via phone and email to provide updates, gather information, and resolve routine inquiries.
  • Support high-volume client service operations by completing casework, processing requests, and resolving routine client issues in accordance with established service standards.
  • Review, investigate, and resolve client cases while ensuring accuracy, quality, and timely completion. 
  • Assist with case routing, workload balancing, and assignment management to support operational efficiency and service delivery. 
  • Complete project returns, processing cleanup, and other operational support activities to improve team productivity and client outcomes. 
  • Accurately document client interactions, case activity, and resolutions within company systems. 
  • Collaborate with Account Managers and cross-functional partners to escalate complex issues and ensure timely resolution of client needs. 

Education and Experience

  • Active enrollment in a bachelor’s degree program with an anticipated graduation between December 2027 and Spring 2028 
  • Preference for Business and Liberal Arts majors with a career interest in customer service, account management, and client success.  
  • Must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Experience with data entry and client interaction preferred
  • Strong technical aptitude; proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Excellent time management, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for business correspondence
  • High attention to detail and commitment to process adherence, including recognizing and maintaining confidentiality
  • Ability to adapt in a fast-paced environment and work well in a team setting; willingness to jump in wherever necessary 

Physical requirements 

  • Ability to sit for extended periods: The role requires sitting at a desk or workstation for long periods, typically 7-8 hours a day. 
  • Use of computer and phone systems: The employee must be able to operate a computer, use phone systems, and type. This includes using multiple software programs and inquiries simultaneously.
