Job description

Navarro Research and Engineering is recruiting a Safety and Health Specialist - Facility Oversight Support (3852) in Oak Ridge, TN.

Headquartered in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, Navarro has active programs in place across the nation for DOE/NNSA, NASA, and the Department of Defense.

Responsibilities

  • Perform facility oversight support activities at nuclear and non-nuclear facilities.
  • Conduct on-site, performance-based evaluations and walkthroughs.
  • Review work plans and procedures for compliance with DOE, federal, state, and local safety requirements.
  • Develop narrative reports documenting evaluation results and compliance findings.
  • Participate in or conduct event investigations and reviews.
  • Evaluate corrective actions to determine adequacy and effectiveness.

Requirements

Required Education

  • Associate's degree in occupational health, safety, or an equivalent related technical field.

Required Training

  • OSHA training.
  • Safety and health training in accordance with industry standards and DOE safety requirements.

Required Experience

  • Minimum of 20 years of experience in the field of safety and health.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience supporting Oak Ridge site operations.
  • Demonstrated experience conducting facility evaluations, event investigations, and compliance reviews.

Clearance Requirements

  • DOE Q clearance.
