What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a client side media specialist, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Client Side Media Specialist, you need a strong understanding of web development, digital advertising principles, and media analytics, typically supported by a degree in marketing, communications, or a related field. Familiarity with ad serving platforms (such as Google Ad Manager), tag management systems, and analytics tools like Google Analytics is essential. Attention to detail, problem-solving, and strong communication skills help in managing campaigns and coordinating with cross-functional teams. These skills ensure effective execution, optimization, and reporting of digital media campaigns to achieve client goals.

What is client side media?

Client side media refers to multimedia content, such as images, videos, and audio, that is processed or rendered on the user's device (the client) rather than on a server. In web development, this typically involves using technologies like HTML5, CSS, and JavaScript to display and manage media directly within the user's browser. This approach allows for faster interactions, reduced server load, and enhanced user experiences, as media can be manipulated or played without needing to constantly communicate with a server. Client side media is essential for interactive web applications, online streaming, and responsive design.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working in client side media roles, and how can they be addressed?

Professionals in client-side media often encounter challenges such as rapidly changing digital advertising technologies, evolving privacy regulations, and the need to deliver measurable results for clients. Adapting to new platforms and tracking tools requires ongoing learning, while clear communication with both internal teams and clients is essential to manage expectations and campaign objectives. Staying up-to-date with industry trends and collaborating closely with analytics, creative, and account management teams helps to ensure campaigns are both compliant and effective.

Job description

Chamberlain Group (CG) is a global leader in intelligent access and Blackstone portfolio company. Powered by our myQ technology, we make access simple and secure for millions of homeowners, businesses, and communities worldwide. Our flagship brands, LiftMaster and Chamberlain, are found in 51+ million homes, and 14 million+ people rely on the myQ app daily.

This role is part of Chamberlain Group's Central Marketing team, reporting to the Sr. Manager, Media Strategy, Operations & Governance. The Media Coordinator, National/DTC Media supports the planning, execution, and optimization of paid media campaigns across national and direct-to-consumer channels (e.g., digital/programmatic CTV/OLV, display, paid social, and search). This role ensures national media campaigns are executed effectively and in alignment with the broader media strategy and governance standards set by the Sr. Manager. This is not a hands-on-keyboard role. Instead, the Media Coordinator partners closely with Chamberlain Group's external paid media agency to provide strategic direction, review campaign execution, and ensure quality and alignment with business objectives. This role suited for someone early-to-mid career in media planning/buying who wants to build deep channel expertise while operating within a structured, cross-functional team.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day execution of national/DTC media by managing and reviewing the work of external agency partners responsible for campaign setup, creative trafficking, activation, measurement, and optimization across paid media channels

  • Coordinate with external national media agency to ensure timely delivery of media plans, creative specs, and placements

  • Monitor campaign pacing, budget delivery, and performance against KPIs, flagging issues or optimization opportunities to the Sr. Manager

  • Assist in the development of national/DTC media plans, providing channel and audience insights informed by data and market trends

  • Maintain organized documentation of campaign timelines, budgets, and performance for reporting and governance purposes

  • Support attribution and measurement efforts by ensuring external agencies accurately implement tracking (pixels, UTMs, conversion tags) across national/DTC campaigns

  • Compile regular performance reports and dashboards, summarizing key metrics (unit sales, revenue, ROAS) for internal stakeholders

  • Partner with the Retail/Amazon Media Coordinator to ensure consistent processes, timelines, and reporting formats across national and retail media

  • Support testing and optimization initiatives (creative testing, audience testing, channel mix testing) and help document learnings for the broader team

  • Assist with invoice reconciliation, budget tracking, and vendor management processes for national media partners

  • Stay current on national/DTC media trends, new platforms, and best practices, sharing relevant insights with the team

  • Comply with health and safety guidelines and rules; managers should also ensure compliance across their teams

  • Protect Chamberlain Group's reputation by keeping information confidential.

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reading professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies

  • Contribute to the team effort by accomplishing related results and participating on projects as needed

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, or related field Experience

  • 2-4 years of experience in media planning, buying, or coordination (agency or client-side)

  • Familiarity with national media channels (digital/programmatic OLV/CTV, display, paid social, search)

  • Experience with media planning and reporting tools (e.g., Google Ads, Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads, DSPs, media planning platforms)

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines simultaneously

  • Analytical mindset with proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets; experience with dashboards or BI tools a plus

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate effectively with agencies and internal teams

  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy in reporting and campaign execution

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

The pay range for this position is $64,000.00 - $103,375.00; base pay offered may vary depending on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience. In addition to base pay, also offered is a comprehensive benefits package and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). This position is eligible for participation in a short-term incentive plan subject to the terms of the applicable plans and policies.
