At ElderSAFE, we provide a lifeline for vulnerable older adults facing crisis situations. We are seeking a compassionate and driven Client Services Manager to play a pivotal role in ensuring safety, dignity, and coordinated care for individuals in need of support and temporary shelter
WHAT IS OUR ELDERSAFE CENTER AT CHARLES E. SMITH LIFE COMMUNITIES
Our commitment to caring for older adults reaches beyond our campus. ElderSAFEâ„¢ Center (ElderSAFE), an award-winning program of Charles E. Smith Life Communities in Rockville, MD, was established in 2014 as a comprehensive healthcare-based elder abuse prevention center whose mission is to provide safe temporary shelter, education and advocacy on behalf of older adults (60 and above) who experience abuse, neglect or financial exploitation by a spouse, partner, family member, caregiver or another third party.
Eligible shelter clients reside at one of the skilled or independent living residences on the CESLC campus and receive comprehensive healthcare and trauma informed services, including: case management and state-of-the-art Holistic Therapy Program offerings (trauma-informed counseling, yoga, music and art therapy) during their shelter stay.

WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS
This role is essential to ensuring vulnerable older adults receive compassionate, coordinated, and trauma-informed care in times of crisis. The Client Services Manager serves as a trusted advocate, navigating complex situations while prioritizing dignity, safety, and well-being.
LOCATION
This position is based at 6121 Montrose Rd, North Bethesda, MD
OUR CLIENT SERVICES MANAGER/SOCIAL WORKER POSITION
The ElderSAFE Client Services Manager plays a critical role within the ElderSAFE Center at Charles E. Smith Life Communities (CESLC). This position is responsible for managing the shelter admission process and delivering coordinated, trauma-informed support to clients. Working closely with residents, family members, and interdisciplinary teams, the Client Services Manager ensures a safe, respectful, and efficient experience for individuals seeking temporary shelter and services.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the ElderSAFE shelter admission process, collaborating with admissions, accounting, social work, nursing, and medical teams to evaluate eligibility for temporary shelter placement
  • Provide case management services, ensuring coordination of care and strict protection of client confidentiality
  • Maintain and review client information in the PointClickCare (PCC) healthcare systems
  • Manage the ElderSAFE helpline (Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:00 PM), offering referrals and resources to community members and professionals
  • Participate in care plan meetings and coordinate safe and appropriate discharge planning
  • Coordinate internal and external services, including medical, legal, and social support appointments
  • Arrange healthcare aides and transportation services as needed to support client access to care
  • Partner with external vendors to deliver trauma-informed services to shelter clients
  • Develop and implement safety plans in collaboration with the ElderSAFE team and CESLC security
  • Communicate key updates, including admissions and discharges, to internal stakeholders via campus security alerts
  • Provide consultative guidance and training to CESLC associates on issues related to abuse, neglect, and financial exploitation
  • Support training initiatives for internal teams and external partners on elder abuse awareness and response
  • Represent ElderSAFE in internal meetings, community coalitions, and professional conferences
  • Maintain program data and assist in reporting and documentation
  • Participate in an on-call rotation to provide occasional after-hours coverage
  • Perform additional duties as needed

SHIFTS & STATUS
This is a full time, Exempt/Salaried position
EDUCATION & TRAINING
  • Bachelor's degree in Social Work (BSW)
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) strongly preferred
  • Licensure in the State of Maryland (active or pending preferred)
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience providing direct services and case management to older adults in a healthcare setting, senior living community, or adult day program

PREFERRED EXPERIENCE
  • Experience supporting survivors of elder abuse, domestic violence, family violence, or related crisis situations
  • Background working in shelter, crisis response, or trauma-informed care environments
  • Strong understanding of confidentiality, safety planning, and interdisciplinary collaboration

VACCINATION POLICY
As a dedicated provider to Senior Living Care our facility requires all hired associates to provide proof of vaccination records, including two doses of MMR, two doses of Varicella, and a Negative TB screen before the start of employment. Another source of documentation that can be accepted is a Titer or Lab test that expresses proven immunity to the following diseases. Upon employment our Talent Acquisition team will provide additional details regarding CESLC vaccination policy.
