POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
Afognak Leasing, LLC (ALC) a subsidiary of Afognak Native Corporation (ANC) has an opportunity for an Operations Manager in Fairbanks, Alaska. The Operations Manager is a strategic leadership position within the organization, reporting to the ALC President, and plays a critical role in steering the company's operational strategies and execution. This role encompasses a broad range of responsibilities, including overall management of operations, remote facilities and equipment, staffing, contract compliance, and enforcing all company policy and procedures for Afognak Leasing, LLC. The Operations Manager is instrumental in execution of awarded projects and maintaining forecasted budgetary expectations as set by Subsidiary President. Additionally, Operations Manager is responsible for construction, operations and maintenance of new and used inventory of remote facilities and equipment.
  • Oversight of ALC's operations personnel primarily located in Fairbanks and North Slope, Alaska including travel to various remote locations and operational sites.
  • Organizes, directs, and manages remote camp facility and equipment operations, mobilizations, and maintenance.
  • Provides technical and management direction for personnel involved in camp facility and equipment operations; procurement; and logistics.
  • Interfaces regularly with clients.
  • Meets with customer and subcontractor personnel to formulate and review task plans and client deliverable items.
  • Ensures conformance with program task schedules and costs.
  • Trouble shoot and perform major camp maintenance, to include commercial kitchen equipment, plumbing, generator maintenance, electrical, and HVAC systems as well as preventive maintenance.
  • Maintains and enforces commercial/industrial standards and prioritizes repairs for all assets.
  • Maintains inventory to ensure tools and materials are available and accounted for.
  • Manage performance of asset mobilizations and demobilizations.
  • Directs subcontractors, sets schedules and assigns tasks to facilitate all subcontracted services.
  • Supports the corporate Safety Plan through personal involvement in all aspects of safety pertaining to daily operations, tenants, trades or skills and elements.
  • Supports Quality Control program by performing inspections and issuing rework when required.
  • Accountable for accomplishing duties and responsibilities in accordance with client contracts, corporate policies and procedures, and applicable local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
  • Maintains appropriate staffing at Fairbanks, North Slope and all other remote locations.
  • Supports bid and proposal team with operational and technical information and costs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Payrate: $95,000 to $110,000 Annually
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelors Degree
  • 5 years' experience in facility operations and maintenance services.
  • 3 years' managerial or supervisory experience.
  • Experience in two or more of the following trades: carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, HVAC,
  • Ability to develop and apply organizational performance support, strategic planning, and interact with high-level government officials.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Power Point, and various other computer programs including email and websites programs.
  • 5+ years of arctic construction experience required.
  • 5+ Years of Alaska North Slope experience required.
  • Experience with mobile camps and buildings (relocating, operating, and maintaining).
  • Experience working with and operating heavy equipment. (Loaders, Forklifts, Tail handlers and Skid steers).
  • Must be willing to travel as needed to remote project sites throughout Alaska
