Job description

Job Summary Fragomen's Business Immigration Consultant position offers an opportunity to make an immediate impact on the firm's business through training, development, and long-term growth opportunities. This role focuses on immigration and is performed in a dynamic, challenging, and collaborative environment. Responsibilities Perform substantive, clientโ€facing work beyond typical paralegal duties, handling a variety of employmentโ€based immigration matters. Independently prepare and file petitions with government agencies, including document gathering, review, analysis, and drafting. Oversee case status using case management and billing systems, run reports, and assist in case review. Conduct client intake, troubleshoot issues, establish case strategy, recommend solutions, and propose process improvements. Produce clear, wellโ€organized written work demonstrating accurate application of immigration knowledge and problemโ€solving skills. Proactively communicate with foreign nationals and client contacts, providing prompt updates on case status or general inquiries. Meet deadlines in accordance with Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and report case progress, status, and escalations to supervisors. Assist in hiring and training new team members, proactively identifying ways to boost team productivity and officeโ€wide projects. Identify immigration policy changes that may impact work and collaborate with leadership to incorporate changes into processes. Use case management and reporting tools and technologies to manage data and information. Contribute to team and individual productivity goals. Follow documented firm standards and policies to mitigate risk and ensure regulatory, operational, and client compliance, including Data Privacy protocols and proper use of Connect. Demonstrate a continuousโ€improvement mindset, regularly seeking opportunities to improve quality, efficiency, and standardization of processes, products, or services. Qualifications Associate's degree or paralegal certificate plus 4 years of business immigration experience, or bachelor's degree plus 3 years of business immigration experience. Strong knowledge of procedural requirements for various types of nonimmigrant and immigrant visas and client processes. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to proofread documents, draft fluent prose, and avoid grammatical mistakes without AI assistance. Experience using various computer systems, including MS Word and Excel. Desire to contribute to a positive work environment, effectively collaborate, and promote teamwork.
