POSITION TITLE: Same-Day Medical Provider
DEPARTMENT: Medical
NATURE OF POSITION: The Same-Day Medical Provider delivers comprehensive medical services to patients requiring prompt evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of acute illnesses, minor injuries, and other urgent, non-emergency health concerns. This provider is responsible for providing timely access to care through same-day appointments, ensuring patients receive efficient, patient-centered treatment while supporting continuity of care within the clinic.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
โ€ข Graduate of formal accredited medical or osteopathic school
โ€ข Must be licensed by Oklahoma State Board of Licensure of Supervision
โ€ข Has completed Residency in Primary Care
โ€ข Experienced in ambulatory care settings
โ€ข Interest and/or experience in collaboration with interdisciplinary health teams
โ€ข Possesses medical skills at a high level of competency
โ€ข Maintains current continuing medical education and requirements for privileging
โ€ข Must possess current DEA and OBNDD licenses
RESPONSIBILITES:
โ€ข Participates in the provision of first contact care and coordination of continuity of
care to clients of all ages
โ€ข Participates in the coordination of community agencies and/or resources in
providing continuity of care
โ€ข Participates in the continuing education of the medical staff
โ€ข Participate in individual client or family education or counseling activities in
collaboration with other members of The Clinic's interdisciplinary team
โ€ข Assists with development and implementation of medical care policies and
procedures to ensure compliance with existing standards, practices, and funding
source regulations
โ€ข Assists with overall coordination and administration of clinic health care services
and activities including clinical indicators, health care plan and performance
improvement
Specific Functions:
โ€ข Elicits a chief complaint, history of present illness, patient profile, past medical
history, family history and review of systems. This includes social, economic and
emotional data
โ€ข Performs a physical examination, using the skills of auscultation, percussion,
palpation and inspection
โ€ข Determines final disposition of client and makes appropriate referrals to other
resources when necessary
โ€ข Provides follow-up care for monitoring health and disease state, evaluating progress
of each problem including patient education
โ€ข Participates in clinical audit
โ€ข Provides for The Clinic's clients in collaboration with other physicians
โ€ข Assists in making patient services more accessible, effective and efficient. They strive to minimize unnecessary costs
โ€ข All other duties as assigned
