Description:

The Construction Account Executive is responsible for developing and maintaining client relationships to promote NRG Controls' building automation, energy management, and system integration solutions. This position focuses on identifying new business opportunities, managing key customer accounts, and ensuring client satisfaction through strategic consultation and project coordination. The Construction Account Executive acts as the primary liaison between clients, operations, and engineering to ensure successful project delivery and long-term partnerships.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute sales strategies to achieve revenue and profitability goals within assigned markets.

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities with building owners, contractors, and consultants.

• Prepare and deliver sales presentations, proposals, and bids tailored to customer needs.

• Build and maintain strong relationships with existing clients to ensure retention and repeat business.

• Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to develop accurate project scopes and pricing.

• Track and manage opportunities in the CRM system from initial contact through close.

• Participate in job walks, site visits, and pre-bid meetings as required.

• Negotiate contracts and ensure compliance with company policies and risk guidelines.

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, BAS technology, and the competitive landscape.

• Represent NRG Controls at trade shows, conferences, and professional events.

• Coordinate with internal departments to ensure timely project startup and a smooth project handoff.

• Provide accurate sales forecasting and activity reports to the VP of Sales.


Requirements:

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• Minimum of five (5) years of experience in sales or account management, preferably in the HVAC, BAS, or construction industries.

• Demonstrated experience selling DDC (Direct Digital Control) construction projects.

• Proven track record of achieving sales goals and developing client relationships.

• Strong technical aptitude and understanding of building systems and controls.

• Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, HubSpot).

• Valid driver's license and ability to travel regionally.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience selling DDC construction projects on the Honeywell platform (experience with other manufacturers will also be considered).

• Experience selling building automation or energy management solutions.

• Familiarity with project estimating, proposal development, or bid documentation.

• Existing relationships with facility owners, contractors, or engineers in target markets.

• Understanding of mechanical/electrical systems and construction processes.

• Experience with public and private bid solicitation processes.
