Primary Purpose:
Responsible for routine duties related to the operation of the school clinic.
Qualifications/Skills:
Education/Certification:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Special Knowledge/Skills:
  • Effective organizational, communication and interpersonal skills.

Nurse Support:
  • Administer basic first aid and care to ill and injured students according to district policy.
  • Refer specific student health problems and concerns, including consultation for the ill or injured student, to the assigned school nurse.
  • Perform health screenings according to district and state guidelines.
  • Assist the assigned school nurse in preparations for health teaching activities.

Clerical Support:
  • Assist in enforcing immunization statutes and prepare cumulative health records for new students.
  • Maintain clinic inventory and ensure a healthful clinic environment.
  • Update and maintain medical records for students at regular and/or required intervals.
  • Process health information via computer system.

Other:
  • Serve as liaison between school, home and community.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
