Clerical Aide II

The Clerical Aide II will provide clerical/administrative support to the assistant principal; conveying information regarding school and/or District functions and procedures.

All employees of SISD are expected to act with integrity, support and demonstrate our core values, communicate in a clear and respectful manner and seek to continuously improve self- performance and processes.

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or GED from an accredited institution

Preferred:

  • One+ years secretarial/clerical experience in a school setting

Special Knowledge/Skills:

  • Ability to work well with students, parents and staff
  • Ability to communicate effectively
  • Proficiency in use of computer
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work

Major Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Provide general secretarial service
  • Compose documents/correspondence to communicate information to staff, students, parents and public
  • Evaluate situations and take appropriate action or direct to appropriate personnel
  • Ensure compliance with Federal, State and local laws/regulations
  • Assist with standardized testing
  • Develop knowledge of school policies and procedures
  • Maintain confidentiality
  • Schedule and supervise student aides
  • Participate in staff development and faculty meetings as assigned
  • Demonstrates effective communication skills via email and phone
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

Working/Special Conditions:

The usual and customary methods of performing this job require the following: Job may require prolonged periods of time sitting, moderate standing, stooping, bending, reaching and repetitive hand motions; prolonged use of computer. Ability to maintain emotional control under stress. May require some lifting no more than 10lbs. Overtime is required as necessary.
