THE POSITION Becoming a Clerical Assistant 2 with the Department of Military and Veterans Affairs gives you the chance to support a mission that serves veterans and their families. You will help the Admissions Coordinator ensure that every step of the admissions process is organized and efficient.

DESCRIPTION OF WORK This role supports the Admissions Coordinator by completing clerical tasks that ensure accurate records, well-organized processes, and smooth communication within the Admissions Department. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties: Form Processing: Perform data entry to complete admissions forms and distribute information to required parties Record Management: Copy, file, scan, and upload documents to maintain accurate and organized applicant and resident records Resident Support: Assist prospective residents and families with admissions paperwork in alignment with DMVA policies Information Coordination: Verify insurance eligibility and obtain medical and financial records for admissions Department Assistance: Prepare documents, respond to inquiries, manage communications, and support tours and marketing events Administrative Tasks: Order supplies, type correspondence, maintain logs, and complete office duties that support daily operations Interested in learning more. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week. Work hours are 8:00am to 4:00pm, Monday thru Friday with a 30-minute lunch. Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position

Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,831 (before taxes). REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or Graduation from high school; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Additional Requirements: You must be able to perform essential job functions. Legal Requirements: This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.

Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
