Position Information Section: Attorney Resource Center/Civil Law Division Class: Clerical Assistant I/II/III Location: Harrisburg Telework: This position will report to the headquartered location a minimum of 2 days per week. You may have the opportunity to telework the remainder of the week, if desired and based on business need. Position Type: Full-time, Non-civil service, Union Work Hours: 8:30 - 5:00 Salary Range: Clerical Assistant I, Pay Range 2 - Starting salary of $32,724 Clerical Assistant II - Pay Range 3: Starting salary of $36,831 Clerical Assistant III - Pay Range 4: Starting salary of $41,506 Basic Function An employee in this position performs clerical work which requires the utilization of typing skills and the processing of a variety of documents, including, but not limited to, correspondence and similar documents as well as verifying information, performing arithmetic calculations, and assisting the public in completing governmental forms.
Work assignments will involve providing secretarial services to multiple individuals as well as data entry and document management through the use of computers and electronic scanning equipment. Work may involve providing training and guidance to new employees and fulfilling a lead worker role for routine clerical operations. Work is subject to periodic changes in operating procedures and requires some adaptability to shifts in work schedule.
Employees work with considerable independence within standard operating procedures, however, detailed supervisory guidance and review is received for new or unusual situations and changes in operating procedures and policies. Examples Of Duties Types and formats documents and letters Scans documents Uploads scanned documents into database (Practice Manager) Inputs data Maintains documents in an orderly and safeguarded manner Provides phone coverage Picks-up and distributes mail and/or deliveries, traveling locally as needed Prepares postage for mailing Performs related work as required Minimum Experience and Training Clerical Assistant I: Ability to perform the position No previous work experience needed Clerical Assistant II: Six months as a Clerical Assistant I OR Graduation from high school OR Any equivalent combination of experience and training Clerical Assistant III: One year as a Clerical Assistant II OR One year of moderately complex clerical experience OR Any equivalent combination of experience and training Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook Shows initiative, works independently, and is dependable Exhibits attention to accuracy and organization Possesses computer knowledge necessary to navigate through networks and computer based files Exceptional typing skills Ability to maintain confidentiality of document materials
