Job description

New York City College of Technology (City Tech), the designated college of technology within the City University of New York, seeks an innovative, forward-looking, dedicated and student-centered leader to serve as its next President, joining an atmosphere of inclusion, respect, and open-mindedness in which all members of its community can flourish.

The President of City Tech serves as the chief executive and a highly visible leader across the College and throughout New York City. Reporting to the Chancellor of the City University of New York (CUNY) system, the President leads the College’s academic programs, student services, and administrative operations, including budgeting, financial management, human resources, enrollment strategy, facilities oversight, and strategic planning. As a member of CUNY’s senior leadership team, the president collaborates with the Chancellor, the CUNY Board of Trustees, University executives and fellow CUNY presidents to advance systemwide goals while championing City Tech’s mission as CUNY’s college of technology.

At the College, the president inspires faculty, staff and students to pursue excellence in teaching, learning, service and innovation. An empathetic, transparent and decisive leader, the president addresses complex institutional issues using data, evidence and input from City Tech’s diverse community. The president strengthens a culture of collaboration, trust and respect by honoring the College’s history and reinforcing its commitment to access, equity and applied learning.

The president works closely with faculty and academic leadership to create and expand programs using market analysis and data-driven review, ensuring City Tech responds to rapidly evolving technological and professional needs. The president advances enrollment and retention strategies and ensures that academic support, student services and campus communication are aligned to equip students to succeed academically and prepare for meaningful careers.

The president leads the development and stewardship of City Tech’s operating budget and secures funding aligned with the College’s priorities from a broad range of sources. Working closely with the CUNY Central Office and the CUNY Board of Trustees, the president ensures City Tech’s long-term financial sustainability. The president engages city, state, and federal officials to advocate for public investment in City Tech and partners with the City Tech Foundation to strengthen philanthropic support, cultivate donor relationships and build partnerships with businesses, industries and public-sector organizations.
