Description
MUST HAVE COLLEGE WORK-STUDY
The LGBTQA+ Center PLV Student Assistant will provide administrative support to the department. In addition to performing miscellaneous clerical duties, LGBTQA+ Student Assistants will also be required to answer phones and greet visitors to the office, taking detailed messages for staff follow-up as necessary. They will also be required to assist with various department projects as assigned, including executing programming and staffing events. This is a work study position. Applicants must be awarded work study. The LGBTQA+ Student Assistant can expect the following daily tasks:
  • Greet and assist incoming student, staff, faculty, and community visitors
  • Answer a wide variety of questions related to the department's procedures and other general questions (training will be provided)
  • General clerical duties such as emailing, photocopying, posting flyers, filing, shredding, and other duties as assigned
  • Assist with answering phone calls; taking detailed messages for staff follow-up as necessary
  • Perform other such duties and responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time
  • Organize, execute, support, and host LGBTQA+ Center PLV programming based on availability

Requirements
  • MUST HAVE COLLEGE WORK-STUDY
  • Proficient in Canva, Outlook Email, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Cisco Phone System
  • Must be able to handle confidential information in a discreet manner
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Reliable and patient with visitors
  • Office experience a plus
  • Ability to work independently
  • Strong customer service and organizational skills
