Job Description: Food Service - Cook Support/Hot Ala Carte/Baker
Classification: Staff
Schedule: Ten Month; Monday-Friday; 6:00 am - 2:15 pm
Supervises: No
Reports To: Food Service Manager
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
General Description
The Cook Support prepares, cooks, and assembles hot breakfast, bakes cookies, and performs hot a la carte food items utilizing commercial cooking practices in accordance with standardized recipes and volume preparation. Washing dishes and maintains a clean and sanitary work area. Assist with all kitchen and cafeteria clean up.
Qualifications
  1. Be a born-again believer, maintaining a testimony that is above reproach
  2. Active in local, evangelical church
  3. High School Diploma or equivalent
  4. Knowledge of commercial volume-based cooking, food preparation, sanitation procedures and POS system
  5. Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  6. Must be reliable
  7. Be able to work in a team environment
  8. Be in agreement with the Lakeland Christian School Statement of Faith and staff qualifications

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Uphold and ensure compliance of all LCS policies and procedures.
  2. Maintain a professional appearance.
  3. Cook and assemble hot breakfast items
  4. Bake and package cookies
  5. Perform hot ala carte food production in accordance with regulatory food safety guidelines.
  6. Maintain work area sanitation and cleanliness.
  7. Washing dishes to maintain clean work area
  8. Sweep and mop floor of responsible area.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  1. Must possess a positive attitude and work well with others
  2. Food service worker experience preferred
  3. Ability to follow routine verbal and written instructions
  4. Knowledge of food service lines set-up and temperature requirements
  5. Knowledge of food preparation and presentation methods, techniques, and quality standards
  6. Ability to understand and follow safety procedures
  7. Ability to safely use cleaning equipment and supplies

Physical Demands
  1. Ability to kneel, crouch, squat, climb, stand, bend, lift up to 50 lbs
  2. May involve some moderate exposure to extreme temperature, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises
  3. May involve some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions
  4. Ability to stand for extended periods of time
