Every day, we serve approximately 1,500 patients living with advanced illness, wherever they call home, be it a private residence, a long-term care or assisted living facility, a hospital, or in one of our nine inpatient care centers.

We’re here to improve quality of life, to ease pain and lift burdens, and to be the Compassionate Guide that families need when time matters most. And most importantly, as the only non-profit hospice provider in the region, we never turn anyone away due to an inability to pay.

The Pharmacy Courier delivers medications from the Community Hospice & Palliative Care pharmacy to various facilities and patient's home residence. The Courier obtains electronic signatures for each delivery, exercising safe driving and timely delivers while communicating with patients or caregivers if delays arise.

Position Details

  • Days/Hours: Tuesday - Saturday 11:00am to 7:30pm
  • Work Starting Location: Community Hospice and Palliative Care DME Warehouse, 7255 Salisbury Road, Suite 5, Jacksonville, FL
  • Transportation: Company vehicle provided for all deliveries; no use of personal vehicle.
  • Compensation: $17.00 - $18.00/hr; full benefits including 23 days year PTO annual

Job Description

  • Picks up and delivers medications for next day/ same day deliveries
  • Obtains electronic signature upon delivery of medication for each patient.
  • Completes daily routes and administration of pharmacy medications
  • Maintains and cleans delivery vehicle routinely.
  • Demonstrates customer service behaviors that represent the professional activities and services of the Durable Medical Equipment department.
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager of Support Services.

Required Licenses/Certifications:

  • Current Florida driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Education/Experience:

Any combination of education and experience that would provide required skills and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:

  • High School or GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent organizational and people skills.
  • Ability to meet or exceed CHPC Courier Services Best Practices.
  • Adheres to CHPC company policies and procedures of Support Service Pharmacy Couriers.
  • Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends when necessary.

Desired Knowledge & Skills:

  • Knowledge of proper medication handling; mail/medical supply distribution
  • Ability to create efficient medication delivery routes to patients
  • Excellent time management, ability to provide customer service while working independently.
  • Safe driver and vehicle operator
  • Must be able to lift 75 lbs
