Date of Posting: July 1, 2026 Select/Show Choir Assistant Director Title: Select/Show Choir Assistant DirectorUnits: 3Location: Marple Newtown High SchoolNumber of Positions: 1 Job Description: The Select/Show Choir Assistant Director is dedicated to creating a safe and inclusive environment for all students at Marple Newtown and offers the students a multitude of activities as well as an opportunity to socialize and make lasting friendships.Effective: 2026-2027 School YearQualifications:Experience: Experience working with school age students and coordinating and managing events.Skills: Strong managerial, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work with students of all ability levels.Education: Valid PA teaching certificate.Essential Functions: A faculty advisor acts as a liaison between the school administration and the club, providing guidance to student leaders and members.Advisors work with student leaders to plan events and create opportunities for inclusion.Advisors work with program staff to communicate information, and support and build lasting relationships.Advisors will supervise all club-related events and meetings.Assist the director in planning and conducting rehearsals, including supporting vocal instruction, choreography practice, and overall performance preparation for the select/show choir.Provide sectional or small-group instruction to reinforce vocal technique, music accuracy, and choreography, ensuring student readiness for performances and competitions.Support coordination of performances, competitions, and events, including assisting with scheduling, student supervision, and logistics as assigned by the director.Has read and understands obligations as outlined in MNSD School Board Policies.Other duties as assigned by Administration.
