Job description

Position Description: The Prosper Health Coverage Regional Services Coordinator will work to increase health insurance enrollment by building relationships with public health offices, medical providers, community-based organizations, small businesses, and Federally-Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) in Williamson County. Paid training provided for the required certifications.

Primary Duties/ Responsibilities

  • Organize enrollment events and coordinate on-site enrollment services at local community resource centers, businesses, churches, medical clinics, libraries, and other places to meet with people and help them get insured
  • Organize meetings and events to share expertise with community-based organizations and medical provider offices that share the Prosper Health Coverage mission of enrolling uninsured and underinsured people in Qualified Health Plans
  • Educate community partner organization representatives on the Marketplace application, health coverage terminology, and plan options, and assist with determining client eligibility for Medicaid, CHIP, and Marketplace plans and financial assistance
  • With a trauma-informed approach, help clients enroll in health insurance and utilize their coverage to receive care
  • Establish and maintain expertise in the Affordable Care Act, Medicaid, CHIP, and the Central Texas health delivery system, and use this expertise to help clients in your focus region navigate coverage and care
  • Provide client assistance and support in-person and by phone
  • Follow privacy procedures to protect clientsโ€™ personal identifiable information
  • Enter client information accurately in the program database


Minimum Requirements

  • Must complete paid training to establish and maintain relevant certifications (including Community Health Worker certification, Certified Application Counselor certification through CMS, and Community Partner Program certification through TXHHS)
  • Experience coordinating community programs or services
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to provide superior customer service to clients with diverse identities and needs
  • Ability to self-direct and be effective with independent, remote work in the community
  • Ability to be flexible, learn quickly, and problem-solve
  • Proficiency using standard office computer programs and databases and digital technology
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion
  • Access to reliable transportation for traveling across the 6-county service area


Preferred Requirements

  • Ability to communicate fluently in English and Spanish preferred
  • Although this position does not require prior experience with health insurance, a background in health insurance, public health, the Affordable Care Act, Medicaid, or CHIP is helpful.


Working Conditions

General office environment. Work is generally active in nature and requires standing and walking for up to 50% of the time, and prolonged periods of driving, up to 50%. The working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate, and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. Work is generally performed within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.

Physical Requirements

General office-based demands including remaining in the seated position with occasional standing and walking.

Compensation

$26/hour

Foundation Communities provides paid training for all employees and mileage reimbursements for work-related travel.
