Job description

Our client is a national leader in disaster recovery and property restoration. Our team is committed to restoring peace of mind to property owners through expert service, rapid response, and professional restoration solutions. We are currently seeking a skilled and certified Water Restoration Technician to join our Virginia Beach, VA and the Northern Virginia offices


Job Summary:

As a Water Restoration Technician, you will be responsible for assessing and mitigating water damage in residential and commercial properties. You will work on-site to remove water, dry and restore structures, and ensure all restoration services meet industry standards. This is a hands-on role that requires attention to detail, customer service skills, and the ability to work in fast-paced environments.


Key Requirements:

  • IICRC Water Damage Restoration Technician (WRT) certification – Preferred
  • Respond promptly and professionally to emergency water damage calls.
  • Follow directives from team leaders and supervisors to complete restoration tasks effectively.
  • Comply with safety protocols, including MSDS guidelines and company safety procedures.
  • Conduct daily maintenance inspections of vehicles and equipment; maintain cleanliness.
  • Operate water extraction tools and equipment under supervision (e.g., portable units, weighted tools).
  • Assist in setting up containment zones with HEPA vacuums and negative air machines.
  • Apply disinfectants and safely remove debris, including in confined or restricted areas.
  • Use lifting tools (sliders, foam blocks) and techniques to handle customer belongings with care.
  • Learn and assist with moisture detection using penetrating and non-penetrating meters.
  • Support the installation and monitoring of drying systems (Injectidry, Directed-In, Octi-Dry).
  • Maintain accurate documentation of job activities, including time tracking and equipment usage.
  • Participate in after-hours, weekend, and travel assignments as needed.
  • Attend all required safety and operations training sessions.
  • Ensure all work meets IICRC standards and company quality expectations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 1+ years of experience in water damage mitigation or restoration (preferred).
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs and perform physical tasks in varying conditions.
  • Strong problem-solving and time-management skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Additional IICRC certifications (e.g., ASD, FSRT, AMRT).

· Experience with restoration software such as MICA, DASH, or Moisture Mapper.

· OSHA 10 or 30 certification is a plus.
