Job description

FluentU is an education company founded in 2011 that helps people learn languages with real-world videos, including movie trailers, music videos, news, and inspiring talks. Job Description : We are looking for a Chinese content editor (native Chinese speaker), who can create useful and intriguing content for our users. Job Details : Creating Chinese learning content: curating Chinese language videos, transcribing captions, translating them into English, annotating words, creating vocabulary flashcard sets and Chinese learning courses.

Helping with writing scripts for YouTube videos and lesson videos Adapting new software: learning a variety of platforms through which we communicate and assign tasks. Previous experience with Asana and/or Slack is a plus. Cooperation: collaborating with other editors to find the best ways to provide language learning services.

How We Work : We're a 100% distributed/remote team. All of our communication is text-based (mostly via Asana) and we have a low-stress environment. We also have a flat collaborative environment.

We make decisions based on logic/reason. We prioritize communicating clearly. We can be direct with our feedback.

Job Requirements : Being a native Chinese speaker. A love of language education: passionate about language education and believing in the changes it can provide for language learners. Knowledge of Chinese and English language and language learning: understanding Chinese and English grammar and their structures.

At least 1 year of experience in Chinese education/translation or linguistic fields: understanding the Chinese learner's point of view to create content. Willingness + experience with voice over is a plus Strong editing skills and attention to detail: professionalism and accuracy in the completion of work. The ability to work remotely with a team: distributed around the globe.

Having a self-driven and productive attitude: getting things done and being ready for a high level of freedom and responsibility. Strong written communications: organized and clear communicator. Stable commitment: working 15-20 hours per week on a regular, long-term basis.
