About this Job Department MISSION DCFS is working to keep children safe, helping individuals and families become self-sufficient, and providing safe refuge during disasters. This vacancy is located in the Caddo Parish Child Support Enforcement Office in Shreveport, LA.

This position is responsible for administration of the Child Support Enforcement (CSE) program within Department of Children and Family Services (DCFS), Division of Family Support. The goal of CSE is to ensure that parents fulfill their obligation to provide financial and medical support for their child/children. The incumbent in this position will also provide direct supervision over a unit of professional social services staff that provides customer service in the CSE program.

Minimum Qualifications Six years of experience in child support enforcement; OR Six years of full-time work experience in any field plus three years of experience in child support enforcement; OR A bachelor's degree plus three years of experience in child support enforcement; OR A master's degree plus two years of experience in child support enforcement. EXPERIENCE SUBSTITUTION: Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Job Duties and Other Information Job Duties: Responsible for the maintenance of acceptable standards for assigned child support enforcement program(s). Assumes lead responsibility for the conciliation procedure to resolve disputes related to an individual's participation in their assigned program; interviews complainants and investigates for resolution.

Prepares required reports relative to assigned unit activities, reviews and analyzes records for quality assurance, and compiles data and statistical information for written reports. Orients staff in all areas of staff development functions; conducts individual and group conferences with staff to increase their skill and efficiency. Maintains working relationships with local, state, and federal agencies both in the public and private sector.

Position-Specific Details: Work Location: This vacancy is located in the Caddo Parish Child Support Enforcement office in Shreveport, LA. Compensation: CSE Supervisor position has a Special Entrance Rate (SER): $24.35/hour. Appointment Type: This position may be filled as a probational appointment or a job appointment that may last up to 48 months

Job appointments may convert to probational appointments. Also, it may be filled as a detail and promoted within 12 months or by promotion of a permanent classified employee. Work Schedule: Typically, work hours are 8:00 am to 4:30 pm, Monday - Friday.
