Job description

Lead Growth Strategy. Strengthen Member Relationships. Make Good Happen.

Do You Belong Here?

Valley First Credit Union is seeking an innovative, relationship-driven executive to serve as its

next Chief Growth Officer. This is an opportunity to join a thriving, community-focused

organization that is redefining what growth means for a modern credit union.

Founded in 1949, Valley First Credit Union proudly serves more than 80,000 members

throughout California's Central Valley with over $1.1 billion in assets. As a federally certified

Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI), Valley First is committed to creating

economic opportunity while living its promise of "Making Good Happen."

Reporting directly to President/CEO Kathryn Davis, the Chief Growth Officer will join the

executive leadership team and oversee marketing, retail branches, the contact center,

communications, financial education, community impact, and digital member engagement.

This leader will help shape the organization's future by accelerating sustainable growth while

strengthening the member experience.

Located in California's Central Valley, Modesto offers an exceptional quality of life with

affordable living, a strong sense of community, and convenient access to the Bay Area,

Yosemite National Park, and countless outdoor recreation opportunities.

Reporting directly to the President/CEO, the Chief Growth Officer serves as a strategic

partner responsible for developing and executing enterprise-wide growth strategies that

expand membership, deepen relationships, strengthen the Valley First brand, and improve

organizational performance.

This role extends well beyond marketing. The CGO will align strategy across retail delivery,

digital channels, communications, and member experience to create one seamless growth

engine for the organization. Working collaboratively with the executive team, this leader will

turn bold ideas into measurable results while fostering innovation, accountability, and a

member-first culture.

At Valley First Credit Union, growth is measured by more than new memberships or loan

production. It is reflected in stronger relationships, greater financial inclusion, and lasting

impact throughout the communities we serve. The Chief Growth Officer will help ensure every

growth initiative advances that mission while positioning the credit union for continued

success.

Can We Grow Together?

The ideal candidate is an accomplished executive with 12+ years of progressive leadership

experience within the credit union industry and a demonstrated record of driving

organizational growth, brand development, and member engagement. A bachelor's degree is

required, while an MBA or other advanced degree is preferred.

Candidates should have executive leadership experience in marketing along with at least one

additional member-facing function such as retail operations, member experience, digital

delivery, or sales. Success in this role requires strategic thinking, creativity, learning agility,

and the ability to build trusted relationships while leading teams through change and

delivering measurable business results.

This is an opportunity to partner closely with an innovative CEO, influence enterprise strategy

broaden your executive impact, and help shape the future of one of California's

respected community-focused credit unions.

The salary range for this position is $225,000–$275,000 annually.
