Shared Hospital Services is seeking a Chief Engineer Manager to own the reliability, safety, and performance of our plant operations in a highstandards healthcare laundry environment. Role overview

You will be the technical authority for plant engineering, maintenance, and facility systems, ensuring our operation is mechanically sound, compliant, and running at maximum efficiency. You will lead a team of maintenance and janitorial staff, set standards, and ensure that preventative maintenance and regulatory requirements are consistently met.

  • Electrical and electronics
  • Plumbing
  • Heating and air conditioning
  • Computerized monitoring and control systems
  • Highpressure steam boiler systems
  • Other specialized production equipment

You will be accountable for:

  • Mechanical reliability and uptime
  • Safety and regulatory compliance (OSHA, NFPA, DEQ, etc.)
  • Maintenance budget adherence and cost control
  • Inventory and parts management
  • Staff development and performance

What you will do

  • Direct and coordinate the work of maintenance mechanics; inspect and verify the quality of completed work
  • Provide handson support in diagnosing and resolving machinery and equipment malfunctions using a systematic, rootcause approach
  • Maintain and continuously improve the preventative maintenance program to minimize downtime and unexpected failures
  • Train maintenance and janitorial personnel on safety and regulatory standards, including LockOut/TagOut, RighttoKnow, and Confined Space procedures
  • Plan and manage shift schedules to ensure reliable maintenance coverage for plant operations
  • Manage the maintenance budget, including purchase orders, receiving documents, and invoices, with attention to detail and cost discipline
  • Conduct annual equipment evaluations and make datasupported recommendations to the General Manager for capital investments and replacements
  • Oversee janitorial services, waste streams, and fireprevention measures to maintain a safe, compliant facility.

What you bring

  • Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematic drawings, and diagrams accurately
  • At least five years of experience in building maintenance and operations, preferably in an industrial, healthcare, or production environment
  • Demonstrated management and administrative skills, including clear written and oral communication for work orders, reports, and procedures
  • Solid basic computer skills to work with monitoring systems, maintenance records, and documentation
  • Extensive knowledge of safety and regulatory standards, including LockOut/TagOut, RighttoKnow, and Confined Space regulations
  • Physical ability to stand, walk, climb, squat, kneel, reach, bend, and twist as required for inspections and handson work; normal vision (including color) and hearing
