What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Chief Content Officer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Chief Content Officer, you need a deep understanding of content strategy, editorial leadership, and brand storytelling, often supported by a degree in communications, journalism, or marketing. Familiarity with content management systems (CMS), analytics platforms, and digital publishing tools is typically required. Exceptional leadership, creativity, and cross-functional communication skills help drive content initiatives and align teams with organizational goals. These competencies ensure cohesive content strategies that effectively engage audiences and support business growth.

How does a Chief Content Officer typically collaborate with other executive leaders to shape a company’s overall strategy?

A Chief Content Officer (CCO) works closely with other C-suite executives—such as the CEO, CMO, and CTO—to ensure that content aligns with the organization’s broader business goals. This role involves participating in strategic planning sessions, offering insights on content trends, and integrating content initiatives with marketing, product development, and brand strategy. Collaboration also includes coordinating with department heads to maintain consistent messaging and drive cross-functional projects, making the CCO a key partner in shaping company direction and growth.

What does a Chief Content Officer do?

A Chief Content Officer (CCO) is an executive responsible for overseeing an organization's content strategy, creation, and distribution across various platforms. Their duties include managing content teams, ensuring brand consistency, and aligning content initiatives with business goals. They often collaborate with marketing, communications, and product teams to enhance audience engagement and drive growth. The CCO plays a crucial role in shaping the voice and message of a company to its target audiences.

What jobs make 3000 a month without a degree?

Chief Content roles typically require relevant experience and skills in content strategy, writing, or editing, and may not be entry-level positions. Many freelance or remote content creation jobs, such as copywriting, social media management, or digital marketing, can pay around $3,000 monthly without a degree if you build a strong portfolio and client base. These jobs often rely on skills, portfolio, and reputation rather than formal education.

Job description

The Opportunity

FutureSight is seeking a Co-Founder & CEO to lead InfluTracker, an AI-native content intelligence and publishing venture currently in build at our studio. This is a co-founder partnership with meaningful founder equity, not a salaried executive role.

InfluTracker is an AI-first content intelligence engine that transforms raw information into structured insights and ready-to-publish content. The platform ingests high-signal content from sources like LinkedIn, X, newsletters, blogs, and podcasts, extracts and clusters insights into themes, and generates drafts tailored to individual or brand voice - creating a seamless workflow from input insight output. Rather than another point solution for capture, writing, or scheduling, InfluTracker is designed to be the system of record for modern content creation across individuals and teams.

The venture begins with an initial product, real users, and immediate feedback loops to accelerate iteration and go-to-market. We are now seeking the founder to lead the venture from here.

Market Context
  • Content has become a primary distribution channel for founders, operators, marketers, and creators across LinkedIn, X, and newsletters
  • Professionals spend 5-10+ hours per week consuming fragmented information with no system to convert input into structured insights and consistent output
  • High-performing creators publish 3-7x per week with structured workflows, while most professionals lack a repeatable system for insight content
  • Adjacent categories (social listening, creator tools, AI writing) exceed $10B+ and continue to grow, with clear willingness to pay across Notion, Substack, Hootsuite, and Jasper
  • Expansion path runs from individual creators to teams to enterprise content workflows
About FutureSight

FutureSight is a leading venture studio that co-creates world-class software companies with values-driven entrepreneurs from inception to exit. We are a team of founders, operators and designers with experience successfully bringing software to market at scale.

You'll co-create with a proven studio team, including:

  • John Carbrey - 4x founder, bootstrapped to $100M ARR
  • Joshua Auslander - Seasoned CFO and strategic advisor with $200M aggregate exits
  • Alan Smith - Globally recognized early stage validation expert, 24 products launched, an exit, 5M+ books sold
  • Prathna Ramesh - Early-stage investor and capital strategy advisor
The Partnership
  • Founder equity with meaningful ownership from inception
  • Pre-seed capital committed by FutureSight for early hires and MVP development, with potential for follow-on funding
  • Studio resources, including embedded design, engineering, growth, and fundraising support from day one
  • Investor and advisor network across the creator economy, marketing tech, and early-stage capital markets
  • A true co-creation model in which you operate as CEO with the studio as your partner
What you'll own

As Co-Founder & CEO, you will set the direction of the venture and lead its execution.

  • Strategy - Define the ICP wedge (creators vs. teams vs. agencies), pricing model, and product positioning
  • Customer Development - Expand from internal design partners to external users (creators, teams, agencies), validate retention and willingness to pay, and build the go-to-market motion through creator-led distribution
  • Product - Partner with the FutureSight product and engineering team to ship V1 and iterate on user feedback, with a focus on extraction quality, clustering relevance, and draft usefulness
  • Capital - Lead the seed raise, supported by FutureSight's network and traction
  • Team - Recruit and lead the founding team, and establish the cultural foundation of the company
Co-Founder Profile
  • Previous founding experience at a venture-backed company
  • Demonstrated success in B2B SaaS go-to-market, including sales and customer engagement
  • Fundraising fluency, with the ability to develop investor narratives and close capital
  • Proven ability to attract, develop, and retain top talent
  • Clear-eyed understanding of the risks and demands of co-founding a venture-backed company
  • Direct exposure to the creator economy, marketing tech, social platforms, or knowledge work tooling, with familiarity in AI agents/LLMs
How to Apply

Please submit your resume, LinkedIn profile, and a brief note on why this venture aligns with your goals as a founder. We will move quickly for the right candidate.

FutureSight is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion. We welcome applicants of all backgrounds and experiences.
