Job description

Job Description:

Permian Resources (NYSE: PR) is currently seeking a Production Engineer reporting to the Lead Production Engineer in Midland, Texas. This position will be a key member of our Production Operations team and will work side by side with the full asset team and field personnel to manage producing assets from cradle to grave for an assigned area. Responsibilities will include flowback management and initial lift install, production surveillance and optimization, failure identification, workover design, chemical program management, and LOE stewardship for the area. The ideal candidate will have strong technical and communication skills and be able to contribute his/her expertise while working on multi-disciplinary teams in a fast-paced environment.

General Responsibilities

  • Manage an assigned production area within the Delaware Basin, with an emphasis on new and existing horizontal wells producing on gas lift, ESP, and rod pump.

  • Work closely with a full asset team of field operations, reservoir, drilling, completions and facilities engineering, geology, land, and regulatory groups.

  • Coordinate with the field operations teams to optimize base production and reduce downtime. Spend time in the field on a weekly basis.

  • Design, optimize, and troubleshoot artificial lift systems including gas lift, ESP, rod pump, jet pump and plunger lift.

  • Manage and optimize chemical programs treating scale, corrosion, H2S, etc.

  • Create AFE's and procedures for new drill flowbacks, workovers, recompletions, and well maintenance operations.

  • Coordinate with wellsite supervisor and service providers to execute workover operations.

  • Lead regularly scheduled well reviews with field operations and reservoir engineers.

  • Analyze well failures to formulate and implement recommendations for optimization and run-time improvement.

  • Track and monitor LOE and capital spending to ensure compliance with budgets.

  • Demonstrate Health, Safety & Environmental leadership.

  • Ad hoc projects as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline, Petroleum preferred.

  • 5+ years of experience in Production Engineering role.

  • Demonstrated experience with horizontal well production in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated work experience in the areas of artificial lift, production, workover operations and project economics.

  • Proficiency with PC based programs, specifically Microsoft suite (Excel, Word, Power Point) and Spotfire.

  • Must be willing and able to work in-office in Midland, TX.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience utilizing production industry engineering software packages such as: P2 Carte, Well View, Inspatial, Rod Star, and other nodal analysis software.
