Job Title: Process Engineer

Role Purpose
The Process Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and continuously improving distribution center processes to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable parts operations. This role supports accurate inventory representation, uninterrupted product flow, and scalable execution by partnering closely with Operations, IT, Safety, Quality, and Supply Chain. The Process Engineer helps establish disciplined, standardized processes that enable operational excellence, continuous improvement, and sustained service performance.
Core Areas of Responsibility
  • Design, analyze, and improve end-to-end processes across receiving, putaway, picking, packing, shipping, returns, and inventory control.
  • Develop and maintain standard work, SOPs, process maps, and visual management tools to ensure consistent execution.
  • Support PDC startups, expansions, and operational transitions through process design, stabilization, and optimization efforts.
  • Partner with Operations leadership to identify inefficiencies, reduce waste, and improve safety, productivity, cost, and service performance .
  • Lead Lean and Continuous Improvement initiatives including kaizen events, root cause analysis, and value stream mapping.
  • Establish process performance metrics and support visibility through data-driven analysis and reporting.
  • Support inventory accuracy and system integrity through disciplined process design and adherence to standards.
  • Partner with IT and Systems teams to support SAP ERP and SAP EWM process enablement, enhancements, testing, and deployment.
  • Develop labor standards, time studies, and capacity models to support operational planning and staffing decisions.
  • Collaborate with Safety and Quality teams to ensure processes comply with OSHA, EHS, and company requirements .
  • Support training development and change management for new and modified processes.

Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Systems, or related field)
  • 2+ years of experience in process engineering, industrial engineering, or continuous improvement within a distribution or logistics environment.
  • Knowledge of distribution center operations and best practices.
  • Working knowledge of Lean and Continuous Improvement methodologies.
  • Proficiency with data analysis and documentation tools including Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

Preferred
  • Experience supporting warehouse startups, expansions, or major operational changes.
  • Experience with SAP ERP, SAP EWM , or other warehouse management systems.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or higher .
  • Experience developing labor standards, productivity metrics, or work measurement models.
  • HVAC or industrial distribution experience.
