At Kalahari Resorts & Conventions, we don't just create vacations-we craft unforgettable experiences. Home to America's Largest Indoor Waterparks, our African-inspired resorts offer world-class dining, luxurious spas, thrilling entertainment, and cutting-edge convention centers that redefine hospitality.
But we're more than a resort. As a family-owned company, our Promise is simple: Lead with Love. This means caring deeply for our guests, associates, and communities-treating people like family, giving back generously, and creating spaces where everyone feels valued.
Through our partnership with charity: water, we're also committed to bringing clean water to one million people in Africa.
Corporate Chef

In this role, you will support culinary excellence, consistency, and operational success across our resorts in Wisconsin, Ohio, Pennsylvania, Texas, and Virginia. This position is based in Wisconsin Dells and reports to the Corporate Executive Chef.
This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership role for an accomplished culinary professional who thrives in high-volume, multi-property environments. You will partner with Executive Chefs and Food & Beverage leaders to elevate culinary execution, develop talent, improve operational performance, and successfully introduce new programs and initiatives throughout the organization.
The ideal candidate will bring broad culinary leadership experience and practical sushi expertise to help us continue executing and growing our sushi programs at a high level.
As part of our leadership team, you'll embody our Promise to Lead with Love-guiding, supporting, and inspiring associates while delivering extraordinary guest experiences. Through mentoring culinary teams, developing talent, and fostering operational excellence, you'll empower associates to deliver memorable dining experiences while upholding Kalahari's commitment to outstanding hospitality.
In this role, frequent travel between Kalahari properties is required.
Salary Range - $135k - $140k
Key Responsibilities
  • Provide hands-on culinary leadership and operational support across all Kalahari properties.
  • Conduct property visits focused on food quality, presentation, safety, sanitation, recipe adherence and brand consistency.
  • Partner with Executive Chefs and culinary leaders to identify opportunities and implement practical action plans.
  • Develop and deliver culinary training programs supporting menu consistency, leadership development and operational excellence.
  • Assist with onboarding and developing Executive Chefs, Sous Chefs and other key culinary leaders.
  • Support recipe development, menu rollouts, culinary innovation and new operational initiatives.
  • Provide leadership for high-volume conventions, banquets, VIP experiences, special events and peak operating periods.
  • Support new resort openings, renovations, culinary transitions and other major projects.
  • Help strengthen Kalahari's sushi programs through menu development, training, purchasing practices and quality standards.
  • Support property teams in achieving food-cost, labor and operational goals.
  • Assist with recipe costing, inventory management, purchasing strategies and waste-reduction initiatives.
  • Serve as a trusted resource, coach and mentor to culinary leaders across the organization.

What We're Looking For
  • A minimum of 10 years of progressive culinary leadership experience within upscale resorts, hotels, restaurants, convention centers or multi-unit operations.
  • Previous experience as an Executive Chef, Corporate Chef, Executive Sous Chef or in a comparable senior culinary leadership role.
  • Extensive knowledge of high-volume restaurants, banquets, catering and special-event execution.
  • A proven ability to lead, coach and develop culinary teams.
  • Strong financial acumen, including food-cost management, labor management, budgeting and menu profitability.
  • Excellent communication, organization, relationship-building and problem-solving skills.
  • The adaptability to support diverse culinary operations across multiple locations.
  • The ability and willingness to travel frequently and work extended hours, weekends or holidays when operational needs require it.
  • Multi-property, resort or convention-center culinary experience is preferred.
  • Experience supporting culinary openings, renovations or operational transitions is preferred.
  • Sushi experience or a strong working knowledge of sushi operations is preferred.

A Sampling of Our Benefits
