Job description

Salary:

Stouts Island Lodge is a magical resort located on an island in the middle of Red Cedar Lake near Rice Lake, WI. Our resort is well known for providing superior customer service, we are seeking to hire individuals who will honor and uphold this tradition.


Our restaurant has long been considered one of the finest places to eat in the area. We wish to continue that tradition with a talented culinary staff. Our Line Cooks assist the chef both on the line and with kitchen and inventory maintenance. Our restaurant serves all three meals: breakfast, lunch, and dinner. At breakfast, we serve a continental breakfast that is complimented with a hot breakfast menu. Lunch is more casual cuisine, and dinner is fine dining.


We also service many events, especially weddings. These events can range in size from 10 to 175. Our Line Cooks must be able to execute the menus for all three meals with little to no supervision. Line Cooks are expected to fulfill all responsibilities of a Chef with the addition of other more managerial tasks as directed by the Kitchen Manager


DUTIES

Practice safe food handling when performing their duties.

Prepare all meat, vegetables, and other ingredients for cooking.

Prepare and plate customer meals to order.

Follow all recipes as directed by Kitchen Manager.

Ensure all dishes, cookware, and utensils are cleaned and ready for next use.

Properly store all food at the end of each shift.

Oversee cooks and kitchen on shift as directed by Kitchen Manager.

Assists the Kitchen Manager in some or all of the following responsibilities, as directed:

  • Maintaining food cost at budget
  • Ordering food inventory from vendors-when necessary
  • Maintaining a pristine kitchen through implemented cleaning regimen


QUALIFICATIONS


Minimum 2 years cooking experience

Previous hospitality experience a plus

Ability to drive a boat a plus

Experience working on small, versatile teams

Experience implementing new menus and specials

Experience in large and small catering events

Ability to multi-task

Ability to problem solve

Ability to handle stressful situations
