What do Group Exercise Instructors do?

  • Implement aerobics exercise, mind-body, or basic fitness classes
  • Teach fitness classes; develop fitness routines, exercises, and choreography for participants
  • Promote programs to members and participants
  • Record participant counts, distribute and collect program evaluations
  • Maintain minimum class attendance standard
  • Provides exceptional customer service and fosters connections with members
  • Participating and satisfactory completion of in-service trainings

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Required certifications: Nationally Recognized Group Exercise Certification (ACE, NASM, ISSA, NETA, AFAA) and/or specialized format certification (SilverSneakers, Zumba, LesMills, etc.)
  • Complete required certifications within 60 days of hire
  • Complete all required Branch and Position specific trainings as required within two weeks of hire
  • Ability to obtain a criminal record clearance
