Job description

Clean Energy Services (CES) was founded on four core values: Safety, Quality, Trust, and Efficiency.
We are looking for motivated individuals who want to grow with our company and contribute to our culture of excellence. Because CES supports projects across multiple regions, this role is designed for people who are comfortable working at locations outside their home area and who enjoy traveling to new sites as part of their regular schedule.
Our Expectations
Safety:
Safety is everyone's responsibility. All employees are expected to actively participate in CES's safety programs, speak up about safe/unsafe conditions, and always report incidents-no matter how minor. Every employee has both the right and the obligation to stop any work they believe is unsafe or unclear.
Professionalism & Client Interaction:
As a member of our field team, you are often the first point of contact with our clients. We expect professionalism, positivity, and strong representation of CES at all times. If you see opportunities to improve our work processes, we want you to raise them.
Teamwork & Work Ethic:
Project work requires attention to detail, thoughtful planning, and full participation from everyone on site. No one should remain idle when others are working. We expect employees to properly care for and maintain their equipment and to use downtime for maintenance or other improvement work.
What Employees Can Expect from CES
  • Fair treatment and growth opportunities. We invest in people who want long-term careers with CES and provide clear paths for advancement.
  • Annual performance bonuses based on results and tenure.
  • Spot bonuses recognizing exceptional safety practices and job performance throughout the year.

Job Description
The Solar Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in CES's mission to deliver reliable, high-quality services for renewable energy assets. Technicians perform routine and corrective maintenance on solar power plants to ensure they operate at peak efficiency. CES emphasizes training and career development, positioning our technicians as some of the most technically capable in the industry.
Because CES serves projects across multiple regions, technicians are hired with the expectation that they will regularly from place to place to work. Assignments frequently require staying near project locations to ensure reliable daily access to the site. This role therefore involves frequent travel both in and out of state, along with close collaboration with other CES field technicians to deliver best-in-class service to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
  • Promote a strong safety culture by participating in toolbox talks, behavioral observations, and adherence to all safety standards and best practices.
  • Perform routine maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair on mechanical and electrical solar plant components.
  • Review system data and adjust settings on computerized/monitoring equipment at solar facilities.
  • Follow standard operating procedures and supervisor direction; stop and seek clarification anytime a task appears unsafe.
  • Adhere to all lockout/tagout procedures and never interfere with another worker's lockout/tagout device.
  • Prepare detailed work order documentation-including photos-covering work performed, challenges encountered, parts used, suspected root causes, and site conditions. Documentation is completed through daily reports and other CES project management tools.
  • Foster a stop-work culture where all team members feel empowered to halt work if they are uncomfortable with the task or sequence of operations.
  • Perform quality assurance inspections on newly onboarded solar sites and prepare reports identifying deviations from design drawings, electrical codes, or industry best practices.
  • Maintain excellent housekeeping standards at all times.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Details

Experience / Qualifications / Education
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Basic understanding of electrical principles.
  • Experience using hand tools and performing mechanical troubleshooting or repair.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace; ability to learn new software quickly.
  • Comfortable working at locations away from home for extended periods and adapting to different jobsite environments.
  • 20/40 vision (corrected or uncorrected).
  • Ability to work outdoors in hot and cold temperatures, including while wearing arc-flash PPE.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders to access rooftop equipment.
  • Ability to distinguish colors.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds overhead.
  • Ability to wear all required PPE.
  • Ability to participate in an on-call rotation, including evenings and weekends, and respond to urgent work orders during on-call hours.

Additional Requirements
All CES employees are expected to uphold the CES Code of Conduct, based on our four core values:
Safety:
Safe execution defines our work. Every employee is responsible for identifying and eliminating unsafe conditions and stopping work when necessary.
Quality:
Every CES project-regardless of size-is held to the highest quality standards. Employees are expected to pursue excellence daily.
Trust:
Trust is fundamental to our success. We act with integrity and rely on one another to do the right thing.
Efficiency:
We constantly strive to improve efficiency. Everyone is encouraged to speak up about ways to work smarter, faster, and better. In addition, because CES supports projects throughout several regions, employees must be adaptable and ready to work in new areas whenever project schedules require.
