Salary: Depends on Qualifications Location : Ahoskie Campus Job Type: Part-Time Job Number: 202500102 Department: Institutional Advancement & Workforce Division: Workforce Opening Date: 09/03/2025 Job Description The Carpentry Instructor is responsible for providing classroom instruction, distance learning instruction, and practical shop experience to prepare students for employment in a variety of jobs in the field of Carpentry. The instructor will teach courses related to the core skills used by carpenters in residential and commercial settings. Topics include safety, hand/power tool use, site preparation, measurement and layout, footings and foundation, construction framing, and other related topics. Minimum Qualifications
  • High School Diploma with journey or licensed technician level experience (at least 4 years)
  • 3 years of relevant industry experience in the construction industry
  • Teaching and/or industry training experience in construction/carpentry topics in any of the following formats: teaching courses, training sessions, conducting professional development workshops, and/or other continuing education seminars
Preferred Qualifications
  • Associate's degree or higher from a regionally accredited institution
  • OSHA Certifications
  • Postsecondary teaching experience
  • More than 3 years of relevant industry experience in the construction industry
  • Experience with commercial construction processes
  • Experience with assessment of student learning outcomes
  • Experience with distance learning and/or alternate instructional delivery systems
