Office of the US CEO
The US CEO communications team is seeking a Firm Associate Director, Communications to lead strategic communications for the US CEO, driving the executive's public presence, media relationships, and external narrative in alignment with Deloitte's most critical business priorities.
This role is ideal for a seasoned communications professional who excels at developing high-impact executive messaging, cultivating top-tier media relationships, and managing complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives with precision in a fast-paced environment. This person will also flex into internal communications support for the CEO as priorities dictate, including messaging for firmwide moments and leadership initiatives. You will report to the leader of the US CEO communications team.
Estimated Date of Closure September 15, 2026
Work you'll do
You will play a critical role in developing and executing communications that shape the CEO's presence, engage key audiences and advance Deloitte's marketplace positioning. Your work will specifically involve:
External Communications Strategy
- Leading the development and execution of the CEO's external communications strategy, spanning paid, earned, and owned media channels, to continuously evolve and elevate the CEO's presence and influence in the external market.
- Developing and managing the CEO's external messaging framework on priority topics-including AI, workforce, and business strategy-ensuring narrative consistency and alignment with broader firm positioning.
- Working across the businesses, industries, and firmwide initiatives to source and collaborate on thought leadership opportunities that advance the CEO's external platform.
Earned Media & Executive Eminence
- Driving earned media strategy through proactive pitching, top-tier media relationship management, and executive positioning across business press and broadcast outlets (e.g., WSJ, Fortune, CNBC, Bloomberg).
- Leading preparation and strategic support for media opportunities, including broadcast interviews, bylined and co-authored pieces, and podcast appearances, ensuring CEO is strategically positioned and well-prepared.
- Developing CEO executive briefing materials and preparation support for high-visibility external engagements and speaking opportunities/industry events including panels, keynotes, etc.
- Monitoring the evolving external communications landscape-including the emergence of LLMs and new platforms-and bringing new tools, approaches, and best practices to elevate team performance and engagement.
Owned & Paid Media
- Overseeing the CEO's owned media channels, including LinkedIn and other social platforms, managing editorial calendars, content development, performance analytics, and ongoing optimization to grow reach and engagement with key external audiences.
- Leading paid media activations in support of the CEO's external narrative, working with agency partners and internal stakeholders to scope, execute, and measure sponsored content and targeted amplification efforts.
Team Leadership & Collaboration
- Collaborating closely with the broader OCEO team-including internal communications, internal operations, and external operations-to ensure integrated, seamless execution across workstreams.
- Providing surge support on internal CEO communications-town halls, leadership messages, and firmwide moments.
- Mentoring and coaching team members, creating shared learning opportunities, and fostering a collaborative environment that develops the next generation of communications talent within the OCEO.
- Managing external agency relationships, including scoping, contracting, day-to-day management, and performance oversight.
The successful candidate would possess these skills:
- Ability to work independently and collaborate as part of a team
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Meticulous attention to detail and quality of work product
- Ability to build and sustain professional relationships

- Internal executive programming and engagement
- CEO communications, including internal, external, and crisis communications
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in communications, public relations, marketing, or journalism.
- 10+ years of communications experience, with significant time spent in executive, external, or corporate communications.
- Ability to travel 0-15%, on average, based on the work you do and the clients and industries/sectors you serve
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
Preferred:
- Prior experience managing media relationships and supporting senior executives in high-profile external engagements.

The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $107,700 to $221,200.
You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
