What is a CBT therapist?

CBT therapists are mental health professionals trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), a form of talk therapy that helps individuals identify and change negative thought patterns and behaviors. They work with clients to develop practical coping strategies and problem-solving skills for a range of mental health issues, such as anxiety, depression, and stress. CBT therapists can be psychologists, counselors, social workers, or other licensed professionals who have received specialized training in CBT techniques. Their goal is to empower clients to manage symptoms and improve their quality of life through evidence-based interventions.

What are some common challenges CBT therapists face when working with clients, and how are they addressed within a clinical team?

CBT therapists often encounter challenges such as client resistance to change, difficulties in maintaining client engagement, and managing complex cases with co-occurring disorders. These challenges are typically addressed through regular supervision, team case discussions, and ongoing professional development. Working within a multidisciplinary team allows therapists to consult with colleagues, share strategies, and receive support, which enhances the effectiveness of treatment and promotes therapist well-being.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist (CBT), and why are they important?

To thrive as a Cognitive Behavioral Therapist, you need a solid background in psychology or counseling, typically supported by a relevant degree and clinical licensure. Familiarity with CBT protocols, assessment tools, and electronic health record systems is essential. Strong interpersonal skills, active listening, and empathy help build trust and rapport with clients. These competencies are vital for facilitating effective therapy, accurately assessing client needs, and ensuring positive client outcomes.

Job description

Job DetailsJob Location: CBT Cincinnati - Cincinnati, OH 45213

CBT Company is looking for a Pricing Analyst to join our Profit Optimization Department. This role is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working with data, solving business problems, and understanding how pricing, products, customers, and vendors all come together to help win business.

You don't necessarily need to come from a traditional pricing background. We're interested in candidates who bring strong analytical skills and pricing experience, as well as those who may have developed valuable commercial and product knowledge through sales, product management, procurement, sales operations, or a similar role.

The scope of the position can grow with the experience and strengths of the person we hire.

What You'll Do
  • Analyze pricing, sales, margin, customer, product, and vendor data to identify trends and opportunities.
  • Help develop pricing recommendations that balance competitiveness, customer needs, and profitability.
  • Partner with Sales on competitive opportunities, customer pricing decisions, and strategic pricing needs.
  • Work with Procurement and Product teams to evaluate vendor programs, cost changes, rebates, and special pricing opportunities.
  • Support customer pricing programs such as agreements, exceptions, and special pricing agreements (SPAs).
  • Analyze the impact of vendor price increases, tariffs, cost changes, and other market conditions.
  • Research customer buying behavior, sales history, and competitive information to help inform pricing decisions.
  • Develop and improve pricing tools, reports, dashboards, and other resources used by the team.
  • Work across departments to help ensure approved pricing strategies are implemented accurately.
  • Identify opportunities to improve pricing processes, consistency, and overall effectiveness.
Why This Role

This position sits at the intersection of Sales, Product, Procurement, data, and pricing strategy. You'll have the opportunity to work on real business challenges, develop a deeper understanding of CBT's customers and vendor partners, and directly contribute to our ability to compete for and win business.

For someone interested in building broader commercial and analytical expertise, this role offers significant opportunity to learn, contribute, and grow.

This position may be located at our Cincinnati, Springboro, or Sidney office.

Qualifications
  • 2+ years of relevant business experience in areas such as pricing, analytics, product management, procurement, sales, or sales operations is required.
  • Experience with industrial or technical products and an understanding of customers, vendors, and commercial pricing considerations is strongly preferred.
  • Strong Excel skills and comfort working with data.
  • Analytical curiosity and the ability to turn information into practical business recommendations.
  • Strong communication, organization, and attention to detail.
  • Someone who enjoys working across teams, asking questions, solving problems, and learning how the business works.

Prior experience with pricing systems, customer agreements, exceptions, or SPAs is a plus, but isn't required. We are open to candidates who bring strong product, sales, or commercial experience and are interested in developing deeper pricing expertise.

Equal Opportunity

CBT is an Equal Opportunity Employer. We are committed to creating an inclusive workplace where all employees and applicants are treated with respect and provided equal employment opportunities consistent with applicable law.

CBT provides reasonable accommodations for qualified individuals with disabilities throughout the application and employment process. If you require assistance or accommodation, please notify our Human Resources team.

This job description is intended to describe the general nature and level of work performed and is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, or qualifications required. CBT reserves the right to modify responsibilities and requirements as business needs evolve.
