YOUR NEXT OPPORTUNITY:

The Field Payroll CBA Specialist serves as a subject‑matter expert for union benefits and CBA payroll compliance. This role manages complex reconciliations, system configuration, audits, and cross‑functional coordination.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Ensure all union fringe benefits are accurately set up and calculated in payroll systems.
  • Reconcile fringe benefit accruals, payments, and general ledger entries.
  • Prepare and post monthly journal entries for fringe benefits.
  • Make sure all payroll adjustments are coordinated with other Field Payroll teams and are completed timely.
  • Prepare monthly fringe reports and element register reports (401(k), health plans, supplemental benefits).
  • Collaborate with Trust Funds and Local Unions to maintain accurate member data.
  • Address complex reporting errors and amend fringe reports as needed.
  • Assist auditors with compliance audits and respond to audit mail requests.
  • Support labor statistics reporting and survey requirements.
  • Prepare pension footnotes for financial statements and annual pension contribution reports.
  • Identify process improvement and automation opportunities.
  • Work with IT on union benefits reporting issues and system enhancements.
  • Help train Field Payroll CBA Specialist 1 and 2 on their assigned tasks.
  • Respond to complex trust funds, union, and employee inquiries and be ability to identify when something needs to be escalated to a supervisor or other payroll leadership.
  • Provide support when needed on other Support tasks like fringe reports, reviewing incoming mail, new hire setup, and VOE requests.
  • Make deduction and refund adjustments for under‑ or over‑payments.
  • Update Rate Grids and make sure all CBA agreement changes are communicated to all impacted parties.
  • Prepare SOPs and other documentation to ensure all policies and procedures are followed.
  • The duties and responsibilities are to describe the general nature and scope of work this position performs. This is not a complete listing; other duties will be assigned based on the position's role within the business unit.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
  • Advance knowledge of payroll and union fringe requirements.
  • Ability to independently follow procedures and policies.
  • Ability to work under time pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
  • Ability mentor others and share expertise to help strengthen the company.
  • Strong reconciliation, analytical, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow established processes.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
WHAT YOU BRING TO US:
  • Associate degree or higher in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 5 to 7 years of progressive union payroll or benefits experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of CBAs, fringe benefits, and multi‑union environments.
  • In-depth experience with multi‑state union payrolls.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
  • Exposure to payroll systems preferred, Oracle fusion is a plus.
TRAVEL:
  • Up to 5%
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • General work environment - sitting for long periods, standing, walking, typing, carrying, pushing, bending. Work is conducted primarily indoors with varying environmental conditions such as fluorescent lighting and air conditioning
  • Noise level is usually low to medium; it can be loud on the jobsite.

  • Occasional lifting of up to 30 lbs.

Pay Range

$38.60-$51.00 Hourly
