Warehouse & Delivery Specialist
Good Samaritan Foodbank of Thibodaux
Location: Thibodaux, Louisiana
Organization: Catholic Charities of Houma-Thibodaux
Employment Type: Part-Time

Catholic Charities of Houma-Thibodaux is seeking a dependable, hardworking, and service-oriented individual to serve as a Warehouse & Delivery Specialist. This position plays an essential role in supporting food distribution efforts, warehouse operations, and community outreach by ensuring products and supplies are delivered safely and efficiently throughout the region. The ideal candidate is organized, reliable, and committed to serving others with compassion and professionalism.Position Summary
The Warehouse & Delivery Specialist is responsible for collecting, transporting, and delivering food products and supplies throughout the Catholic Charities network. This role also assists with warehouse organization, vehicle upkeep, volunteer coordination, and disaster response support when needed.Key Responsibilities
  • Safely operate a box truck, cargo van, or other assigned vehicles while following traffic laws and organizational procedures
  • Load, unload, secure, and transport products to designated locations
  • Complete pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections
  • Maintain delivery logs, donation records, invoices, and related documentation
  • Provide courteous and professional service to donors, partner agencies, volunteers, and community members
  • Assist with warehouse organization, cleanliness, and general operations
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, and hand trucks
  • Train, schedule, and assist volunteer drivers as needed
  • Support monthly Saturday operations and special distributions
  • Assist with disaster response efforts locally and with neighboring agencies when necessary
  • Report vehicle or equipment maintenance needs promptly
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Experience driving a box truck or similar vehicle preferred
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record
  • Forklift certification preferred or willingness to obtain certification
  • Familiarity with the local service area including Morgan City, Terrebonne, Lafourche, and Grand Isle preferred
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently and heavier items occasionally
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather and temperature conditions
  • Basic computer skills for email, timecards, and online forms
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work well with people of diverse backgrounds
  • Must complete the Diocese of Houma-Thibodaux Safe Environment Program
